ELEMENTARY AGE PROGRAMS WEE READ AND PLAY PROGRAMS Wee Read and Play Programs Birth to Age 5 SPECIAL EVENTS: 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten A free program which encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she starts kindergarten. Sign up at your local library and start keeping track of the books you read. Achieve milestones along the way. By reading with your child, you are helping your child learn the skills they need to become a reader. This program is for any child who has not yet entered kindergarten. Super Hero Reading Buddies Sign up your child, ages 3 to 10, to read one on one with a trained teen volunteer for 20 minutes. This program encourages children and teens to read through the summer break, therefore maintaining or improving their reading skills. Call or register at the Caille Branch Library. Sign up begins May 22. Wee Read and Play Fair Learn how singing, reading, writing, talking, and playing with your child can jump start their reading and language skills!
