2 DECEMBER 2016 STORYTIMES All storytimes take place in the Children s Room. Register on our Events page at If your child falls into two age groups for our storytimes, please choose to register for one in order to accommodate as many children as possible. Thank you. ALPHABET STORYTIME Tuesdays, November 29, December 6, 13, 20 1:00 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. Ages 3½ - 5 years old (not yet in Kindergarten) (with caregiver) Enjoy stories, songs, crafts, and more that encourage development of early literacy skills in young children. Children must have turned 3½-years-old by November 29. Registration begins Tuesday, November 8 at 9:00 a.m. BABY BOOKWORMS Thursdays, December 1, 15, 22 10:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Ages Birth 17 months (with a caregiver) Bring your little ones to a lapsit storytime for a morning of stories, songs, and rhymes. Due to the structure of the program, caregivers are discouraged from bringing additional children. Registration begins Thursday, November 17 at 9:00 a.m. STORYTIME FOR TOTS Fridays, December 2, 9, 16 10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Ages 25 months - 3½ years (with caregiver) Children will enjoy stories, movement, and simple crafts. Children must be 25 months by December 2. Registration begins Friday, November 11 at 9:00 a.m. AFTERSCHOOL STORYTIME Thursdays, December 1, 8, 15, 22 4:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Grades K - 2 Longer stories and crazy crafts are all part of the fun. This is a drop-off class for children in Kindergarten, 1 st, and 2nd grade. Registration begins Thursday, November 10 at 9:00 a.m. 2
3 KIDS VOTE Tuesday, November 8 Session I: 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. Ages 2 ½ - 5 years (not yet in Kindergarten) (with a caregiver) Session II: 2:30 p.m. 3:15 p.m. Grades Kindergarten and up Celebrate at Manhasset Public Library with a special Election Day themed storytime and craft. In addition, all children visiting the library are invited to vote in our Mock Election and choose their favorite picture book characters for Children s Room President and Vice-President. Registration begins Tuesday, November 1 at 9:00 a.m. A TIME FOR KIDS PETE THE CAT PARTY Monday, November 14 10:15 a.m. 11:15 a.m. (Session 1) 11:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. (Session 2) Ages 2 ½ - 5 years (with a caregiver) Can t get enough of Pete the Cat? Join the Great Neck Manhasset Community Child Care Partnership for their Annual Preschool Showcase. Learn about a variety of preschools in the area to aid in your search. Registration not required. ERIC CARLE STORYTIME Friday, November 18 10:30 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Ages Birth to 2 ½ years (with a caregiver) Join us for a fun-filled morning of Eric Carle! Hear a few of your favorite Eric Carle stories and do a simple craft. Registration begins Friday, November 4 at 9:00 a.m. TOT S NIGHT OUT Wednesday, November 30 7:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Ages 18 months 5 years (with a caregiver) Children will enjoy crafts, movement activities, and songs in this interactive and fun night-time class. 4 TODDLER YOGA Mondays, November 14, 28, December 5, 12 for Ages 1 2 DO-IT-YOURSELF WINTER CRAFT DAYS Mondays, January 9, 23, 30, and February 2 for Ages 1 2 Saturdays, November 19; December 17; Mondays, February 27, March 6, 13, 30 for Ages 3-4 January 7; and February 11 10:15 a.m. 11:15 a.m. 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Licensed instructor Beth Lipset will lead children and their Ages 3 and up (with caregiver) caregivers through a series of one-on-one simple yoga Families will be able to drop in at their poses. Come relax, bond with your child, and have convenience during the day and make a simple, fun! (Please note that children must be able to walk in order self-guided art project. No registration necessary. While supplies last. to participate in the 1-2 year old program) This program will be held in the Community Room. The class will be led by a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist whom will demonstrate techniques via songs and games and address parental concerns of infant development. Registration begins Monday, November 28 at 9:00 a.m. MONKEY AROUND WITH CURIOUS GEORGE Wednesday, December, 28 Session I: 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Session II: 1:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. Ages: 2 ½ - 5 years Read, Sing and Monkey Around at this special storytime and craft program celebrating the 75 th Anniversary of Curious George, the lovable and mischievous little monkey.
