On Wednesday, July 4 th, the aquatics center will be closed due to the holiday. This is a great time to get creative in the Cardio/Strength Room or do some laps in the pool. Now is the perfect time to have a Wellness Team Member show you how to use a particular cardio/strength machine or write a customized exercise prescription for you. The new class session will begin on, July 9. New class schedules and descriptions will be available at the dispatch desk in the Wellness Lobby or Mission Point reception desk no later than Friday, July 6. Page 2 of 10 They will also be available on the Villager Portal of the website by this date. If you have questions or concerns please call The Wellness Team at ext or wellness@crosskeysvillage.org Information Services Staffing Change Corey Miller, Ext Director of Information Services Since the Information Services team works closely with villagers, we like to communicate any changes in staffing with you. With that said, I regret to announce that Orbis Lopez has tendered his resignation as Network Technician. His last day at CKV will be Friday, June 29, so that he can pursue another employment opportunity that will allow him to grow professionally. Orbis has been blessed with this opportunity and will do well based on his past performance and positive personality. In his short tenure here, he has been able to build strong relationships with villagers, residents and team members. While this will result in additional work for the existing team temporarily, it gives us the opportunity to find someone else who can become part of the team and help accomplish our goal of satisfying those we serve. The IS team has started working with Human Resources to search for a new Network Technician. This process can take some time since the best fit for this position is someone with a caring personality in addition to technical knowledge. Finding a person that has both skillsets has not always been easy or quick and we want to find the best candidate to serve you. In the meantime, please bear with us as we share his responsibilities among other Information Services team members. Please know that we strive to provide the best service possible under all circumstances.

6 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Life Enrichment Committee Join your neighbors for an exciting trip to the beautiful city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! The Life Enrichment Travel Committee, a "branch" of the Life Enrichment Committee, has some overnight travel planned for villagers. The bus pickup and return will be right here on campus. Our second trip for 2018 is scheduled for October 1 thru 3, 2018 to Pittsburgh. The trip will be for 3 days and 2 nights, and will include a ride on the Duquesne Incline, the Gateway Clipper Cruise, a guided tour of Pittsburgh including the Cathedral of Learning and the Heinz Memorial Chapel, a tour of Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, the Compass Inn Museum, and Frank Lloyd Wright's "Kentuck Knob". Join us for a great fall "get away"! There is some walking involved. For information and reservations contact: Pat Gargus at the Residential Living Desk. Trip Details: Pittsburgh Trip - October 1 to 3, 2018 Cost: $394 per person Double Occupancy, $523 per person Single Occupancy Deposit of $100 per person due at sign up Depart: Union Square Return: Union Square Sign up: Residential Living Reception Desk Deadline: August 3, 2018 REMINDERS Unused Meal Plan Dollars Campus Dining Team, Ext This is a reminder that with the meal plan program, the rollover feature allows participants who did not spend all of their money month to month to roll that money over until the next month to have it all available for use. This will continue until June 30, 2018 as outlined in that plan. What this means is that if you have any dollars left in your meal plan on Saturday, June 30, 2018 and have not spent them or transferred them to a gift card by the end of that day, you will forfeit any remaining balance. It is to your advantage to spend the money within your meal plan down if possible, rather than transfer it to a gift card. Remember that the dollars on a gift card are treated like cash. We cannot waive the 6 % sales tax on meals purchased with gift cards and only the 10% Villager discount can be applied on this money. One question that has been asked is whether the amount forfeited from the meal plan can be counted as a charitable donation. Unused meal plan amounts do not meet IRS definitions of a donation. These are really just fees that are paid for services that you choose not to completely use. If you are unsure of your remaining balance in the meal plan, you can check your receipts each time you dine. The remaining balance is located on the bottom of the receipts at all 3 dining venues. You can also contact a member of the Campus Dining team at ext or ext to check remaining balances. Gift cards may be purchased at the Harmony Café from 8:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. and the Campus Inn from 4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. through Saturday and the Campus Inn from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. 7 Golf Cart Reminders Brian Lawrence, Ext Director of Village Housing If you are a golf cart owner/operator please take a few moments to review the following guidelines for safely operating golf carts on the CKV campus. Register your golf cart by obtaining a vehicle identification sticker from the Residential Living Office. Golf carts must be battery operated electric carts only. Gas carts are not permitted. Golf carts should not be operated unless liability insurance is provided by the owner. CKV strongly recommends you obtain at least $100, of liability insurance coverage. To prevent rust stains in your driveway and other areas, CKV highly recommends an undercoating for your golf cart. For more information please call our Automotive Services Department at ext CKV provides service for your carts and an air station in the Meadow Lane area. For more information please contact the Automotive Services Department at ext Parking and storage for golf carts, particularly for those residences without garages or driveways, will be evaluated by the Grounds Department on a case by case basis. Residents should not alter the grounds around their home or make additions without an evaluation from the Grounds Department. Any alterations to residences for parking or storage will be at the cost of the golf cart owner. Contact the Grounds Department at ext for an evaluation prior to purchasing a golf cart. Any ongoing turf damage or repairs due to unapproved storage or parking of a golf cart will be billed directly to the Villager. Golf carts may be driven on the roadways of the CKV Campus; however, they should not be driven anywhere off campus. Drivers must observe all roadway and other traffic regulations. Golf carts may also be driven on the sidewalks except where noted otherwise, but must yield to pedestrians and bicycles. Please refrain from driving golf carts on the grass as this can damage the turf over time. Any ongoing turf damage or repairs due to operation of a golf cart on campus will be billed directly to the Villager. For your safety and the safety of others, and to ensure that you can see and be seen, CKV strongly recommends that you do not drive carts at night without headlights. The owner of the golf cart assumes all responsibility and liability for the safe operation of the cart. Golf carts may not be operated by anyone under the age of 16 without direct licensed driver supervision. CKV assumes no liability for the conduct of any villager or any guest or for the use, ownership, possession of, or control of electric carts or similar mechanized mobile medical or other equipment by other villagers or guests. Villager releases and discharges CKV from any claims for personal injury to villager or damages to villager s personal property caused by the conduct of other villagers or guests, or by the use, ownership, possession or control of electric carts or similar mechanized mobile equipment by other villagers Golf carts must be battery operated (electric carts only...gas carts are not permitted.) Please use common sense and good judgment in exercising these responsibilities to help keep everyone safe in our community. If you observe anyone not following these guidelines, please report them to me immediately. Page 7 of 10

Scam Alerts George Turner, Ext Residential Living Administrator We were made aware of the following two scams this past week and wanted to share the information with you: The first scam involves villagers receiving calls on campus that their car is due for inspection and someone is coming to pick it up. Unless you made an appointment with our Transportation Department for your vehicle to be inspected, they will not call you about your inspection dates. We believe these calls have been initiated off campus and may be targeting individuals in the surrounding area. If you receive a call informing your car is due for inspection, either hang up or record any information you can gather from the caller including their phone number to report the call. Remember, if you have any doubt it s important to trust your instincts and if it sounds like the person knows too much about you, it could be a scam. The second scam is regarding the new Medicare Cards. As many of you are aware, Medicare is replacing cards that formerly had your social security number with a new random account number. For this scam, the caller may call to let you know there may be a problem with your new card and they need your old card number to take care of this. Remember, your old card number is your social security number, so you don t want to give that information out. Again, either hang up on the caller or record what information you can from them, but do not provide them with any information from you. If you ever have doubts a call is not legitimate, don t feel pressured to share any of your information. Give Brian Lawrence a call at ext or myself and we will help to navigate whether the call may be legitimate or not. Better safe than sorry! Page 10 of 10
