1 e y n t e s As of January 4, there have been 462 days since our last lost-time injury. Nice Job! News for the team members of Cross Keys Village -The Brethren Home Community 01/12/2018 Pastoral Care continues to pray for you. Our focus the next two weeks will be Community Life on January 15 and Foundation on January Gingerbread House Competition Results First Place: Diane Glotfelty (villager) Second Place: Pat Gargus (team member) Third Place: Holly Shearer (team member) Other very creative houses and scenes were built by various departments, team members, villagers, and residents of Mission Point and Brookside. In case you missed it, each vote costed 25 cents to cast. Voters were allowed to vote as many times as they wished for their favorite gingerbread creation. All proceeds went to the Friends of Cross Keys Village with a grand total of $ donated! Residential Living would like to thank everyone who participated and we are already looking forward to next year s Gingerbread House Competition. For questions or comments, please contact Director of Life Enrichment Cindy Drenovsky at extension Information Services & FootPrints The IS department expects to see an increase in the amount of work requests in the near future. Whether these requests are a result of Villagers receiving Christmas gifts that require connection to the Internet services or the deployment of new technologies such as phones, the management of these requests will be crucial in making sure they are all addressed. With that in mind, this is a caring reminder to submit a FootPrints work order for all IS work requests. If the IS department receives requests in various forms such as e- mails and voic s to specific IS individuals, it is possible the request may be missed. This is especially true if the person is out of the office. When a FootPrints work order is submitted, all IS department team members have access to the information. If you are unable to access the FootPrints work order system, please call extension 6999 and not individual IS team members. All IS team members have access to the data support hotline (x6999) and voic box. The IS department strives to address all requests in a timely manner. Please help us achieve our goal by submitting work orders for all requests. Remember, the only work requests we don t address are the ones we don t know about. Corey Miller Director of Information Services

That s why we have developed a brand new CKV University catalog of classes that are available to all CKV-TBHC team members! You can find the 2018 CKV University catalog here. Congratulations! Please join us in congratulating Spencer Wassilewski on his new role as Maintenance and Life Safety Supervisor! Prior to working at CKV, Spencer worked in Lancaster maintaining a large number of rental properties. Spencer moves into this role after excelling in his previous positions at Cross Keys Village; starting as a Maintenance Technician in 2013, then earning a promotion to HVAC Specialist in 2014, and Life Safety Coordinator in January Spencer is married to his high school sweetheart and on August 22 they welcomed their first child, Maverick Julius, a happy, healthy baby boy. Please join us in congratulating Bill Porter on his new role as Maintenance Supervisor! Bill moves into this role after excelling in his previous positions here at CKV. He started in 2005 as a Carpenter/Painter until 2013 when he transferred into his position as Move-In Coordinator. Some of Bills interests and hobbies include vintage items and going to car shows with his 1956 Chevy.
4 Team Member Spotlight Patricia (Pat) Palmer Accounts Payable Coordinator, Accounting Department About Me: I was hired in 2013 for the Accounts Payable Coordinator position. I just completed my 4th year here at CKV in December Even though the Accounting & Billing departments are located behind closed doors, I still have the opportunity to work with every department across campus via and by phone. My main job responsibility is processing all invoices to keep Cross Keys Village up and running. I process over 1,000 invoices every month (yes, I really do). So you can imagine the quantity of paper that flows across my desk every month. My goal is always to provide the best customer service possible, both internally and externally, while making sure that payments are processed in a timely manner. Fun Fact: I like to stay active when I am not working especially when the weather cooperates. This had included playing volleyball with a church league up until 2 years ago. When that ended, I began playing co-ed Pickleball several nights a week at the Elm Avenue courts in Hanover. I like to say I am a fierce competitor of this sport, especially when playing with the men. Winter & Spring 2018 Memory Care Catalog Memory care education is now available for 2018! Please note that we have changed the education catalog from quarterly, to bi-annually (2 semesters per calendar year). The current catalog is effective for our Winter and Spring sessions which run from January through June of You can access it here. Requirements are also listed by department, which you can find here. Please me with any questions you may have. Kimberly Korge Memory Care Coach We Need Cancelled Stamps! The Cancelled Stamp Program at CKV is in need of stamp donations! The success of this program depends upon people like you to fulfill our purpose purchasing items that bring comfort to our Residents. Simply collect your envelopes, remove any addresses listed on your envelope and bring them to Volunteer Services. Leave the trimming to the group! The stamp diminishes in value if the perforations around the stamp are destroyed. The more room left around the stamp, the better! We appreciate your thoughtfulness in sending your cancelled stamps to our project. For questions, please contact Volunteer Services at extension 5227.
5 WeightWatchers If you signed up for the next WeightWatchers session, it will begin on January 25. For those that are interested in joining, please call Ashley at extension 5410 on details how to register. Fitness Class Schedule The new session of fitness classes will begin on Monday, January 8. Classes are FREE for Team Members. Don t worry, there are classes designed for all fitness levels. Try Zuma: a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates dance movements. This creates a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness system. Maybe 30-Minute HIIT is more your style! This class is a fitness training technique in which you give 100% effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise. This is followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. Class schedules and descriptions may now be picked up in the Wellness Center Lobby. Healthy Rewards Program Information Letters have been mailed from the Wellness team stating whether you passed or have to make an improvement towards your Healthy Rewards Program. These results come from your screenings held back in October If you have any questions please call Wellness at Also: Don t forget to print your preventative care incentive form on the CKV intranet under wellness tab and get it signed by your physician and turn it into wellness for an extra $ Let s Get FIT! You may have seen some menu items in the Terrace Café, Harmony Ridge Café and The Campus Inn with a FIT next to it. Residents and team members are focusing on wellness more than ever! While many are focused on weight management, there is a growing trend focusing on feeling great, being productive and staying energized. Offering FIT menu items that are balanced in nutrients and rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains are the perfect way to meet this demand. The New Year is the perfect time to incorporate FIT and help you achieve your wellness goals by providing meals, snacks and beverages that align with the FIT criteria. Lunch and dinner entrees are less than 600 calories and breakfast options are less than 400 calories. There are FIT Criteria posters in both of our café s as well as on the dining board. Please look for items labeled with the purple FIT items on them. If you have any questions please contact Krystal Hartzell, Hospitality Manager, at extension 5959.
