The holiday season is upon us, and we find ourselves once again reflecting on the past year and on those who have helped us in our mission of enriching the lives of older adults. It is both humbling and fulfilling to be reminded that, as a Christian ministry organization, our work together is a reflection and a continuation of the work of Jesus Christ. I am reminded daily of this connection when I see and hear how our Team Members further this cause, with an abundance of love, compassion, and kindness. We have accomplished much together during 2017, and impacted many lives for the good. As we enter 2018, may God bless you and enable us to continue to support one another during the New Year. Kimbery Korge Memory Care Coach Team Member Spotlight About Me: I started working at CKV in 2013 in dining services with FLIK Lifestyles as the Hospitality Manager. I transitioned to my role of Memory Care Coach in I have worked in various Long-Term care communities since the age of 16. Additionally, I have my Bachelor s degree and teaching certification in Elementary Education from Millersville University. I love my job because I learn something new every day our team members and residents. What s a Wheat Penny? 4 A Message from Cathy Hertz, LPN, Somerset On September 30, 2017, on my way to work, I was in a car accident that changed my life. My injuries were very extensive, especially the fractures to both of my legs. I spent 3 1/2 weeks in the Hospital and 2 1/2 weeks in a Rehab Hospital. At the present time I am continuing my recovery at home with my husband as my caregiver. I cannot express how thankful I am to my Brethren Home "family" for all of the support I received since my accident. Visits, cards, phone calls, s and contributions to the Benevolence Fund. I feel very humbled by this love and support that has been shown to me. May God Bless each and everyone of you for the kindness you have extended to myself and my family. We Need Cancelled Stamps! The Cancelled Stamp Program at CKV is in need of stamp donations! The success of this program depends upon people like you to fulfill our purpose purchasing items that bring comfort to our Residents. Simply collect your envelopes, remove any addresses listed on your envelope and bring them to Volunteer Services. Leave the trimming to the group! The stamp diminishes in value if the perforations around the stamp are destroyed. The more room left around the stamp, the better! We appreciate your thoughtfulness in sending your cancelled stamps to our project. Compliance Line at The Compliance Line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for callers to report compliance-related issues. Concerns that are reported to the Compliance Line are taken seriously. All calls are confidential and you may call anonymously if you so choose. You can make calls to the Compliance Line without fear of reprisal, retaliation, or punishment for your actions. Anyone, including a supervisor who retaliates against a team member for contacting the Compliance Line or for reporting a compliance issue in any other manner, will be disciplined.
