3 OUR LADY OF HOPE YÜÉÅ à{x ctáàéüë á Wxá~ Dear Friends: E ach year our Bishop, Nicholas DiMarzio, asks all the parishes to assist him by supporting the Annual Catholic Appeal. This Appeal is very important because of the many, many needs of the diocese. Our goal this year is the same as last year - $76,000. I am strongly inviting you to make a pledge to this Appeal. Your pledge not only assists the diocese but, all monies given above the goal, come back to the parish. I use these funds to help pay our annual insurance bill and our Diocesan Assessment. Both bills total over $75,000. Last year, our parish slightly went over our goal and we received only $3,000 back when, in the past, we did so well that the parish received $16,000 back. 5 MARCH 8, 2015 RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS CHILDREN S LITURGY The 9:30 Mass will be hosted by the following grades: March 8 - Girl Scouts - March 15 - Grade 4 ST. PATRICK ST. JOSEPH DINNER DANCE The Holy Name Society will sponsor its annual St. Patrick/St. Joseph Dinner-dance for our parishioners and friends next Saturday, March 14. As last year, a hot, catered buffet will be provided, along with a DJ for your dancing and listening pleasure. Tickets ($35 per person) will be available only until this Tuesday evening at the rectory offices during regular business hours, or by calling CALL ROBERT OR HENRY NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR - YOU RE INVITED Please join us as we celebrate the Feasts of St. Patrick and St. Joseph this month. There will be coffee and soda bread available after the 9:00 Mass on March 17 th in the cafeteria and St. Joseph rolls will be blessed at the 9:00 Mass on March 19 th. ST. JOSEPH DAY On Thursday, March 19 th, we would like to invite everyone to Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in commemoration of St. Joseph s Day. Adoration will begin after the 9:00 A.M. Mass - Vespers at 7:00 P.M. and concluding with Benediction. HOLY NAME SOCIETY The next meeting of the Holy Name Society will take place this Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30 PM in the school cafeteria. All men of the Parish over the age of 18 are welcome. Payment of 2015 dues ($10) remains in order for all who have not done so yet, and may be made at the meeting or via the Sunday collection basket. This also is the last call for tickets for the dinnerdance next Saturday, March 14. LENTEN REFLECTIONS As part of our parish Lenten offerings and Easter preparation, we will once again offer on the Wednesdays of Lent, continuing through March 18 th ~ films which will not only entertain but be a source of inspiration and conversation. MARCH 11 th FAUSTINA - A drama on the life of Blessed Sister Faustina, based upon her experiences recorded in her spiritual diary. She received the visions of Divine Mercy from Our Lord. MARCH 18 th GOD IS NOT DEAD-College philosophy professor Mr. Radisson s curriculum is challenged by his new student, Josh, who believes God exists. Can he actually prove the existence of God? Wouldn t it just be easier just to write God is Dead and put the whole incident behind him? God s Not Dead weaves together multiple stories of faith, doubt and disbelief, culminating in a dramatic call to action. The film will educate, entertain, and inspire moviegoers to explore what they really believe about God, igniting important conversations and lifechanging decisions. There will be two showings: one at 9:30 A.M. and an evening showing at 7:30 P.M. All movies will be shown in the rectory meeting room. Please call the rectory to reserve your seat! SPRING FLEA MARKET Our Spring Flea Market will take place on Saturday, March 21 st from 9 am till 5 pm. All new merchandise, many new vendors, raffles, 50/50 and much more!! New vendors are welcome!
