4 First Sunday of Advent 3 December 2017 COLLABORATIVE NEWS CHRISTMAS SHOPPING WITH THE FRANCISCAN FRIARS Members of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement from the Chapel of Our Savior at the West Gate Mall in Brockton will have a table selling religious and Christmas goods before and after Mass. Here s a list of the merchandise they will be bringing: Nativity sets, Christmas CD s, Christmas ornaments, Advent candles, rosaries, jewelry, statues, Nativity snow globes, car visors, framed prints, and Christmas cards. We hope that as many ministers as possible will attend, as we work toward the implementation of another phase of our pastoral plan. VOLUNTEER S NEEDED Volunteers are needed to participate in the 4 th annual Breakfast with Santa event next Sunday, December 10 th at St. Mary Parish Hall. You can contact John at jdistefano@qcc.org BLESSING OF THE MANGER On the Third Sunday of Advent traditionally known as a Sunday of great joy (Gaudate Sunday), the children in the city of Rome journey to St. Peter Square carrying their image of the Christ Child from their nativity for a blessing by the Pope. This blessing extends not only to the image, but to the family in which the crib is displayed. In keeping with this tradition, all are invited to bring their infant Jesus image to church the weekend of, Dec. 16/17 for a Christmas blessing as we prepare for the birth of Christ.
