3 OUR LADY OF HOPE YÜÉÅ à{x ctáàéüë á Wxá~ Dear Friends, T oday s readings begin to tell us how the Holy Spirit enabled Jesus followers to do miraculous things and helped them witness to their faith in Christ. Jesus calls the Holy Spirit the Advocate, which is a legal term, but it can also mean spokesperson, comforter, or intercessor. One thing is certain: The Spirit witnesses to the truth of Christ, who lives in us and with us. The Holy Spirit guides and teaches the Church, which is the Body of Christ. In confirmation, the grace of the Spirit becomes fully manifested in us, enabling us to tell the world that we follow Jesus and have become new people in Christ. Yours in Christ, Very Rev. Michael A. May God bless you in the future! RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS I would like to thank all of the families who attended our Religious Education program this year. The entire staff and I would like to wish you all a healthy, relaxing and safe summer. We hope to see you back on September 14th when classes begin again. REMINDER: If you register by June 30 th you are eligible to win free tuition for next year. The winning family will be posted on the website on July 4 th. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Registration for next year s program will be held on the following dates: June 2, 4, 10 and 11 from 10:00-12, 1:00-3:00 and 6:30 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. in the rectory. Please bring a copy of your child s Baptismal certificate and fee of $125 per family. If you have any questions, please call Karen at MASS BOOK OPENING The 2015 Mass Book will open on TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Rectory. Numbers will be given to those on line. Separate numbers will be given to those who cannot stay and will be handled as soon as those waiting have been served. The book will then be closed until the following Tuesday, June 10th, so that all reservations can be properly entered in the book and confirmed. In order to accommodate all parishioners, only 5 Masses and 5 Memorials will be allowed. All Memorials will be limited to one per family per week. An individual may not make a request for a Memorial or a Mass on behalf or for another person. Please come prepared with two lists; one for masses and one for memorials. Each list should show a 1st and 2nd choice. For those dropping off or sending in your requests, please include a phone number and a stamped, self - addressed envelope for confirmation of your requests. If there are any questions regarding this, please call the rectory. The offering for 2015 are as follows: Monday through Friday 7:30 & 9:00 A.M. Mass $15 Saturday, 5:00 P.M. Meeting will begin with Rosary in the cafeteria followed by pizza, raffles, dessert and coffee. This is our last meeting before the summer, since there are no meetings in July or August. Anyone attending, is requested to call Hope to see everyone then. HEALING MASS The next Healing Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 9 th at 7:30 P.M. Revelation XXIII under the direction of Joe Nielsen will provide contemporary Christian music. Fr. Art will be the celebrant.

At this function the Council will recognize member Rosary Societies Women of the Year This year Jeanne Wessely was selected as OLH Rosary Society s Woman of the Year. OurLadyofHopeParish.org OUR LADY OF HOPE SCHOOL BJ S MEMBERSHIP FUNDRAISER Our school is having a BJs membership fundraiser. If you are interested, prices are as follows: $43.55 (a savings of $10 off $50 annual membership fee, plus tax for the Inner Circle Membership) and $87.10 (a savings of $20 off the $100 annual membership fee, plus tax for the Rewards Membership). Each membership is for 15 months (an additional 3 months from the regular memberships) and renewals are added on to your current membership. Our school will receive $5 for each new membership/ renewal submitted. If you are interested, please call the school at , ext. 121, or stop in the office to pick up an application. This fundraiser ends on Monday, June 2 nd, and unfortunately we cannot take any additional requests after that date. As always, thank you for all your support. LIFEBOAT Lifeboat, a support group for widows will meet on June 6th at 7PM in the rectory. For information please call SPECIAL SECOND COLLECTION There will be a Second Diocesan Collection for the Religious Retirement Fund the weekend of June 1 st. The revenue from this collection will be used to provide funding for the Religious Retirement Fund of the Diocese of Brooklyn & Rockville Centre.
