4 Second Sunday of Easter 8 April 2018 COLLABORATIVE NEWS SAINT MARY PARISH MASS INTENTIONS THE FEAST OF DIVINE MERCY CELEBRATION Celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy next Sunday, April 8 th, from 3 to 4 PM at St. Ann Church. The service will include Adoration and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament, recitation of the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. All are invited to join us as we ask for God s mercy. In 1935, Our Lord Jesus Christ appeared to Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun of the Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy. Our Lord presented Saint Faustina with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The Lord promised that whoever prays the Chaplet would receive extraordinary graces from God. On May 23, 2000, the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of Sacraments declared that the Sunday after Easter would now be celebrated as Divine Mercy Sunday. That same year, Saint Pope John Paul II decreed that Mercy Sunday would be elevated to a universal feast within the Catholic Church. Refreshments and time for hospitality will follow the service in the lower parish hall. EASTER SEASON SCRIPTURE STUDY Celia Sirois will present a 5-week study series during the Easter Season on Tuesdays from April 3 rd through May 1 st in the parish hall at Sacred Heart. The sessions will run from 10am to noon and will focus on the Easter Mystery. The suggested donation is $5/person per session. Reservations are not necessary, but be sure to bring your Bible! OUR BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP Our group will meet Thursday, April 19 th from 7 to 8:30 PM in the parish hall at Sacred Heart.
