1 The Northwest Regional Library System offers free access to online resources designed to help with homework and school projects. To access these resources, go to our website at click on Research and then Databases. Choose Florida Electronic Library and then K-12 Resources. Resources are divided by grade level, and include information for teachers, too. Free online resources include: Florida History Fair: Provides resources relating to the current History Fair theme that are available online from the State Library and Archives of Florida. Gale Virtual Reference Library: This is a database of encyclopedias and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. Topics include fashion, popular culture, the environment, animals, law, health, and history. Kids InfoBits: Meets the research needs of students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. It features a developmentally appropriate, visually graphic interface; a subject-based topic tree search; and full-text, age-appropriate, curriculum-related content. Research in Context: Created specifically for middle-schoolers, this resource provides age-appropriate videos, newspapers, magazines, primary sources, and much more. We also offer free access to the Encylopaedia Britannica. To access, go to our website at click on Research and then Databases, and choose Encyclopaedia Britannica. Need extra help? Come by any of our eight locations, and we ll be glad to help you out. Education for your library FALL 2016 The Bay County Public Library is holding a free Back-to-School Research Class for Teens and Parents on September 6 p.m. and again on September 6 p.m. See page 4 for details. If the library is closed, you can use Ask-a- Librarian. Just go to or text (message and data rates may apply). Ask-a-Librarian provides Florida residents with free virtual reference services through live chat and text messaging from 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday (ET), and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday (ET). MY JOURNEY WITH ALZHEIMER S The library will host Prime Time Family Reading Time, which is designed to help families help their children improve their reading skills by involving the whole family in making reading fun. Prime Time is a unique program that includes storytelling, reading, and discussion for parents and children aged 6 to 10. The programs are free and include a nutritious meal, door prizes, and gift books.
