A Pre-Baptismal session is required and offered the third Sunday of every other month. Parents can complete this requirement anytime during the pregnancy or after the birth of their child. To register please call Pat at MARRIAGES A couple preparing for Marriage must follow the Policy of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie which mandates a preparation period of six months. Please contact the Pastor well in advance before any other arrangements are made. PRAYER CHAIN The parish prayer chains effectively brings spiritual help to those in need. SPONSOR CERTIFICATES Sponsor certificates are issued to registered parishioners practicing their Catholic faith. Church Law requires that a sponsor must be baptized, confirmed, receives communion, and if married, living a valid church marriage. OUTREACH If you are in need of assistance with getting to Mass, preparing meals, getting groceries etc., please call Theresa at Outreach dinners are served first, third, and fifth Friday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Church Hall. Beginning today (Sunday) all regular Religious Education classes for grades 1-11 will meet from 10:30-11:45 a. m. New and returning families who could not be present last Sunday for the orientation are welcome to bring their children and fill out their forms and pick up their Parent Handbook today as well. The Religious Education program would happily accept parishioner donations of religious articles received in the mail such as medals, rosaries, holy cards, and the like. Often missions and religious orders send these type of items unsolicited to your home. If you are not passing them on to your children or grandchildren, we can use them. Please bring them to the office when you are in the neighborhood. If you bring them to Mass, please leave them in the vestibule and mark them for Religious Education. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you to all those people who have been praying for the success of our programs. Your prayers are working and I ask you to continue them for our families and for our catechetical team. PLEASE NOTE: Due to Father Dan being on a retreat this coming week, no Masses are scheduled at 9a.m. Tues. Sept. 16 Fri. Sept. 19. However there will be a communion service at 9 a.m. Wednesday with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for Adoration. Then on Thursday, there will be Benediction at 9 a.m. followed by a Communion service. 3 Exaltation of the Holy Cross SAINT JOSEPH CHICKEN DINNER Tickets for the Chicken Dinner are now on sale by the members of the Rosary Society, at the parish office or before 9:00 a.m. Mass. Dinner is on Sunday, October 19, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the church hall. Adult $9.00 and children under 12 years $ 4.50 Only 300 tickets will be sold. There will be a basket auction also. KEEP CALM & CATHOLIC ON is the theme for this year s Diocesan Middle School Catholic Youth Rally on Sunday, October 26th at Our Lady of Peace School, 2401 W. 38th St., Erie. The rally is open to anyone in grades 6-8, and their leaders; registration is $30 per person. Bishop Persico will spend the day with us and close the rally with Mass and Eucharistic Adoration.
