A Pre-Baptismal session is required and offered the third Sunday of every other month. Parents can complete this requirement anytime during the pregnancy or after the birth of their child. To register please call Pat at MARRIAGES A couple preparing for Marriage must follow the Policy of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie which mandates a preparation period of six months. Please contact the Pastor well in advance before any other arrangements are made. PRAYER CHAIN The parish prayer chains effectively brings spiritual help to those in need. For prayer requests please call: or for St. Michael the Archangel and for St. Joseph. These requests should be renewed monthly if needed. PARISH MEMBERSHIP If you would like to join the parish stop by the parish office for a registration form. Please remember to register as a married couple when you get married or as an adult or after graduating from college. SPONSOR CERTIFICATES Sponsor certificates are issued to registered parishioners practicing their Catholic faith. Church Law requires that a sponsor must be baptized, confirmed, receives communion, and if married, living a valid church marriage. OUTREACH If you are in need of assistance with getting to Mass, preparing meals, getting groceries etc., please call Theresa at Outreach dinners are served first, third, and fifth Friday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Church Hall. For more information call Fred Deemer at St. Joseph s Rosary Society is having a day at Luigi s in DuBois on Sunday February 8th from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. A portion of the day s sales will benefit the Rosary Society. Also a 50/50 and a Basket Auction will be available. Come enjoy a wonderful meal and help a great group! VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED We need your help : men and women who can help to keep our church clean. If you can help, we have teams that clean on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. This only takes about 2 hours of your time once a month. Another way to help is to wash and iron Altar Linens. If you can help please call Eileen at the parish office ext 2. Regular Religious Education for grades 1-10 resume this morning at DACS. The required Child Protection Training program will be given to children in grades 4, 5, and 6 today. Confirmation candidates and their parents will have breakfast this morning at St. Joseph Church Hall with Confirmation class for candidates immediately after the breakfast. Many thanks to the Holy Name Society for this treat. Catechist Certification training will be held today (January 25) at 2:00 p.m. in the St. John Paul II Conference room. The Diocese of Erie has several certification levels and many of our catechists have volunteered to enroll in this process. Our parishes are blessed to have people willing to share their faith with our young people and their families. Please continue to keep our First Reconciliation candidates in your prayers. To become an Altar Server the person has to have received First Holy Communion prior to the training. There will be two sessions of training. The first training will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 9:00 a. m. at St. Joseph Church. Parents are asked to come with their child initially to fill out a registration form. The second training session will be held at St. Michael on Saturday, February 21st. The Feast of St. Blaise is Tuesday, Feb. 3. The Blessing of Throats will occur next weekend, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, after all Masses for those who wish to remain. The new Archbishop of Chicago is Most. Rev. Blaise Cupich, of Croatian Ancestry. The Mayor of New York is also named after the saint: Bill DiBlasio. DCC invites all to a special Mass this Wed. Jan. 28th at 9:20 a.m. in the gym. Refreshments to follow. Family Perspective It must have been difficult for Zebedee to watch his sons walk away and follow Jesus as it seemed he had his own plans for his children. We often forget that our children were never ours to begin with. They are only on loan to us. We raise them to let them go.
