Please remember to register as a married couple when you get married or as an adult or after graduating from college. SPONSOR CERTIFICATES Sponsor certificates are issued to registered parishioners practicing their Catholic faith. Church Law requires that a sponsor must be baptized, confirmed, receives communion, and if married, living a valid church marriage. OUTREACH If you are in need of assistance with getting to Mass, preparing meals, getting groceries etc., please call Outreach dinners are served first, third, and fifth Friday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Church Hall. The next lottery on PA Pick 4 will be in December (think Christmas presents) Family Perspective Parenting is a lot like the story of the farmer in the gospel parable today. All growth is the Lord s work. We have no control over the process. In fact the farmer doesn t even understand it, for the seed grows even when he sleeps. As parents we can influence our children but can t guarantee results. ST. Dan s Musing What goes around comes around. I was in Erie recently for the ordination of 14 new permanent deacons to serve our diocese. One was the altar server at my first Mass in 1970! Also ordained was a DuBoisian, Paul Bauman, of St. Catherine s Parish. 11 years ago my next-door neighbor on Oil City s Polish Hill was also ordained. Any men from St. Joseph or St. Michael Churches (married or single) interested in learning about the permanent diaconate are invited to a meeting at St. Catherine s on Thursday, June 25th at 7:00 p.m.
