Our Faith Community seeks to both make Christ known and to know Christ. This is accomplished through teaching, evangelization, service, community worship and fellowship offered to all people who seek to know Christ and give glory to God. BAPTISMS: Parents should call the parish office for arrangements. A special class is required before or after the child s birth. To register for the class, please call MARRIAGES: Please contact the pastor at least 6 months before the wedding, before other arrangements are made. Pre-Cana classes are required. PRAYER CHAIN: For requests at St. Joseph call ; for St. Michael call or Please renew the request monthly if needed. SICK AND SHUT-INS: Please inform the parish office of members unable to get to church. They can be placed on a monthly visitation list. Hospitals no longer inform churches of patients, so you must call the parish office. The musical will guide us from darkness to light and from despair to hope. A light recep on will follow. BE PREPARED Be prepared. It s that simple. As this Advent season opens before us, the Lord Jesus summons us to stand ready for His coming. At this time of year much of our attention is focused on being prepared for the details that accompany the holiday season. We purchase gifts; we decorate our homes, inside and out; we prepare foods that we eat only during the holidays; we write and send Christmas cards; we attend holiday concerts; we prepare either to welcome family and friends into our homes or arrange for visits to their homes. We really can t escape the details that make up the season. Perhaps this Advent is a time to attend to all those details with a different spin. As we prepare to celebrate the feast of Christmas, why not be deliberate about acknowledging the presence of the Lord as we go about these tasks? The Lord often comes to us in wonderfully surprising ways. Let us be prepared. 3 1st Sunday of Advent St. Joseph Church News The Angel Tree is now placed in the sanctuary, information on sizes and suggestions are given on the tags. Please wrap your gift and fasten the angel on the OUTSIDE. Place the wrapped gift under the tree by December 11, in order for the gifts to be sorted and distributed before Christmas. Thank you to all who gave donations to the Thanksgiving Baskets. We were able to feed 60 families this year. It is a great feeling to help others at this time of year Sunday missals are available in the back of St. Joseph and St. Michael church for $3.00. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Stanley Mitskavich, who passed away recently. Please keep him and his family and friends in your prayers.
