Our Faith Community seeks to both make Christ known and to know Christ. This is accomplished through teaching, evangelization, service, community worship and fellowship offered to all people who seek to know Christ and give glory to God. BAPTISMS: Parents should call the parish office for arrangements. A special class is required before or after the child s birth. To register for the class, please call MARRIAGES: Please contact the pastor at least 6 months before the wedding, before other arrangements are made. Pre-Cana classes are required. PRAYER CHAIN: For requests at St. Joseph call ; for St. Michael call or Please renew the request monthly if needed. SICK AND SHUT-INS: Please inform the parish office of members unable to get to church. They can be placed on a monthly visitation list. Hospitals no longer inform churches of patients, so you must call the parish office. Father Ross Miceli will speak at a seminar about catholic understanding of immigration and refugee resettlement on Sunday Oct. 23rd at St. Tobias Church social hall in Brockway. 3 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time St. Joseph Church News St. Joseph Rosary Society Tickets are on sale for the chicken dinner that will be held at St. Joseph s on Sunday, October 16, from noon3p.m. Purchase your tickets before the 9 a.m. Mass or from the parish office or from any member of the Rosary Society. Adults $9.00 Children under 12 years of age $4.50. Take outs are available. Proceeds of this dinner will benefit the cemetery fund. THANKSGIVING OUTREACH PROGRAM It is time to collect for our Thanksgiving baskets. Last year we made up 55 baskets. If you know of someone in need please call the parish office for more information at x 2. For our baskets and pantry we need: spaghetti sauce,pasta of all kinds, stuffing in boxes, instant potatoes, canned gravy, fruit, and vegetables. Paper products like paper towels, toilet tissue etc. Personal items like shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, dish soap etc. Turkeys are always needed; we have a freezer available. Monetary donations or gift certificates should have, Thanksgiving donation on the envelope and be placed in the collection basket. TICKET TOURNAMENT The St. Joseph ticket tournament will be held on Saturday, October 29, it will be here before we know it. Tickets are now available for $50.00 each and admit 2. Only 100 tickets are sold. 4 COMMUNITY NEWS A Candlelight Rosary will be held this Sunday at SS. Cosmos & Damian Church in Punxsutawney at 6:30 p.m. The speaker will be Father Marc Solomon who is the Assistant Spiritual Director of the Erie Diocesan Division of the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA. Please join them as we observe the month of the Rosary and ask for the guidance and protection of Mary, our Mother. DuBois Free Medical Clinic will be having their Annual Fashion Show and Dinner on Oct. 20 at the Lakeview Lodge.
