3 THE WOCN SOCIETY S 49 th Annual CONFERENCE GOALS 1. Disseminate research and evidence-based knowledge of the latest techniques, applications, technologies and treatments related to wound, ostomy and continence issues to impact patient outcomes. 2. Encourage networking with colleagues to foster an integrated community of health care providers to improve outcomes for persons with wound, ostomy and continence issues. 3. Strengthen the leadership role of the WOC nurse through education, advocacy, research, marketing and legislation. 4. Generate awareness of the global health issues influencing the patient, family and care provider(s) across the healthcare continuum. CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION The Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. The WOCN Society was awarded Accreditation with Distinction, the highest recognition awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Accreditation Program. The Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP AANP CREDIT Specific sessions within this conference will be submitted to AANP (American Association of Nurse Practitioners) for approval. Several of these sessions will also include pharmacology content. Actual determination of hours is to be determined. The WOCN Society is approved for Group Membership for NP s by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. This membership entitles members of the WOCN Society who are NPs to a 10% reduction of their annual dues for AANP. The WOCN Society Group Number is WOCN 2017 REGISTRATION BROCHURE 3
