2 CONFERENCE OVERVIEW Health in All Policies (HiAP) is an innovative systems change approach to the processes through which policies are created and implemented. This Minnesota Public Health Association (MPHA) conference will help attendees increase awareness about the health implications of policy in many sectors, not just those explicitly related to health. Attendees will learn how HiAP principles can contribute to the policy making process at all levels of government (and other organizations) and positively impact the determinants of health as well as fulfill the original (non-health) objectives of the policy. Examples of putting HiAP into practice will be shared. The conference will also present key strategies essential to creating and addressing health disparities. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Describe the Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach. Cite examples of HiAP strategies being implemented in Minnesota. Outline opportunities for using HiAP approach in your community and work setting. Identify strategies to create and eliminate health disparities in our state. AUDIENCE All stakeholders interested in improving the health of Minnesota communities. Posters will be displayed during the reception. Deadline for submission is May 24, CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS Application for CHES (entry-level) / MCHES (advanced-level) Category I continuing education contact hours (CECH) has been made to the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. CANCELLATION POLICY Refund, Return and Cancellation Policy: Fifty percent (50%) of conference registration fees can be refunded with written notice up to two weeks prior to the conference date. Deadlines for refund requests will be printed in all conference brochures. After the deadline, no refunds will be given. Memberships, donations and policy forum registrations that have been charged are nonrefundable and non-cancellable.
