SAMRM Conference Goals 1. Encourage intercultural dialogue to facilitate healing, health and wellbeing through understanding the client s worldview and cultural perspective. 2. Disseminate knowledge and application of Modeling and Role-Modeling holistic nursing theory acquired through research, practice, and teaching. 3. Provide a forum for intercultural dialogue on holistic nursing concepts in relation to Modeling and Role-Modeling theory. 4. Inspire best practices, education and research grounded in holistic relationshipcentered nursing across populations and cultures.

Modeling and Role-Modeling theory is spiritual in nature; emphasizing holistic relationship-centered care, understanding the client s worldview, and regarding clients as the primary source of information. Dr. Erickson is a world renowned visionary who continues to transform nursing practice. Misty Wilkie, Ph.D., RN Dr. Misty Wilkie is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. She grew up on multiple reservations in North and South Dakota. As a minority nurse, she is passionate about mentoring minority students interested in health care. Margaret Erickson, Ph.D., RN, CNS, APHN-BC Dr. Margaret Erickson is the CEO of the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation.
