2 GENERAL INFORMATION This conference will be held at John A. Logan College, 700 Logan College Road, Carterville, IL. For general information regarding the course, please call REGISTRATION To register, please complete the attached form and return it with the appropriate fee. Registration the day of the conference will begin at 7:30 a.m. Registration fee includes breakfast, lunch and conference materials. CANCELLATION POLICY Registration fees are refundable, less a $25 processing fee, if requested prior to April 26. After April 26, only substitutions are allowed. (Advance notice of substitute attendee is appreciated.) WHO SHOULD ATTEND This program has been designed for primary care physicians. ACCREDITATION Southern Illinois University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CREDIT The SIU School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. In addition, application for CME credit has been fi led with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending. SIU School of Medicine is preapproved as a continuing nursing education provider pursuant to Section , subsection c), 1), B) and P) of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Nurse Practice Act. Nurses may receive a maximum of 6.5 contact hours for completing this activity. 4 OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to: Describe the current guidelines for vulvar and cervical cancer screening. Describe Adult ADHD and its differential diagnosis. Discuss different treatment options, including use of controlled substances. List rheumatology pearls for primary care provider. Know when it is best to refer patients to a Rheumatologist. Gain exposure to various dermatologic procedures that can be utilized in the primary care setting. Recognize common skin lesions that can be treated in a primary care setting along with correct utilization of various types of equipment needed to perform dermatologic procedures. Implement the One Minute Preceptor when working with learners. Demonstrate effective feedback skills. Acknowledge the new CMS student documentation guidelines to implement in practice. Utilize the CMS guidelines on essential components of documentation for Medicare wellness visit. Implement the multi-disciplinary team approach to make the Medicare wellness visit more effi cient. Describe steps to developing a clinic that is addressing opiate misuse. Identify standardized tools/protocols that can be used for a clinic as they address opiate misuse. Compare and contrast the differences between traditional ultrasound studies from the radiology department compared to point of care ultrasound in the primary care offi ce. Demonstrate the basics of splinting and casting. Relate viscero-somatic dysfunction to the autonomic nervous system. Discuss two different OMT techniques: Muscle Energy and Soft Tissue.
