Chesney Auditorium Memphis, TN Course Description This program is intended to discuss evidence-based trends and practices, which aid in the treatment of respiratory-compromised patients in the pediatric population. Le Bonheur emergency medicine, pediatric critical care physicians, and staff will introduce and/or familiarize the audience with common and uncommon respiratory issues that occur in the emergency department and critical care settings. Target Audience This program is designed for all health care professionals taking care of children in Emergency Departments and Intensive Care Units such as: Respiratory Therapists; Nurses; Advanced Nurse Practitioners; Physicians; and any other health care professionals who seek to further their knowledge of advanced respiratory therapies for the pediatric patient. Credit Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. TM Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This activity will provide 7.50 contact hours. This program is offered for up to 0.75 ASHA CEUs (Various Levels, Related Area). Application has been made to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) for continuing education contact hours for respiratory therapists. Tuition Registration fee is $35.00 for nurses, fellows, residents, respiratory therapists, students, other healthcare providers and $75.00 for physicians and non-health care attendees. The registration fee includes course material, breakfast, lunch and breaks. Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare reserves the right to alter, reschedule, or cancel this program should circumstances so dictate. Snider, DO Distinguish between asthma exacerbations and other respiratory conditions, treatment protocols in the ED, and other hospital settings. Apply protocols to care for asthmatic patients. 10:30 a.m. Little Patients, Big Challenges: Preparing the Critically Ill Patient for Transport Katrina Walker, BS, RRT-NPS Describe steps necessary for a smooth and safe transfer by referring facility. Discuss issues seen during transfer of pediatric patients from facility to facility. 11:00 a.m. BREAKOUT SESSION Room A: Ventilator Management and Blood Gas Analysis Rebekah K. Discuss different approaches to manage difficult ethical case scenanos. 12:45 p.m. Chest Imaging in the Emergency Department W.
