3 Conference overview & intended audience Stroke can steal your abilities, freedom, your life, unless you know how to strike back. Within minutes, brain cells begin to die and time is of the essence. Remembering Face Arms Speech Time at start of stroke symptom onset is an integral part of FAST treatment. Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States and results in significant disability and healthcare expenditures. is the region s first Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our Goal is to identify, educate, and treat stroke patients with the highest level of care. This symposium is designed to educate health care professionals on care management, novel interventions, and treatments to improve the care of complex stroke patients. Our target audience includes neurologists, neurosurgeons, cardiologists, primary care providers and other physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, pre-hospital personnel and other professions involved in the care of stroke patients. We hope that in attending this course you will leave with new enthusiasm for the advances recently being made in stroke and that this symposium will allow your patients to experience healthier lives.
