2 Course Information Please note: This course is for current NRP instructors. It is not a course to become an instructor. Overview This one-day course will provide Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) instructors including neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatal nurses and other neonatal care practitioners planning to maintain NRP instructor status with the information needed to implement the 2015 guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics into their NRP courses. In addition, this course will explain the changes relevant to maintaining instructor status as well as practices to help become an instructor mentor to new instructors. Effective neonatal resuscitation practices help reduce neonatal mortality and improve outcomes. This course will discuss the science supporting these changes and optimal ways to maximize the impact of your NRP course for learners and, ultimately, newborns. While all neonatal healthcare providers are welcome to register, this conference is not a course to become an NRP instructor. General Information The conference will be held in the Ruth and Tristram Colket, Jr. Translational Research at The Children s Hospital of Philadelphia. The registration fee is $75 and includes continental breakfast, lunch, parking and syllabus material. Course Objectives Review the recent changes to the NRP algorithm and guidelines Describe strategies for implementing the changes into NRP courses Review the responsibilities of NRP instructors Recognize ways to increase effectiveness of your NRP courses ACCME Accreditation Statement The Children s Hospital of Philadelphia is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing education for physicians. AMA Credit Designation Statement The Children s Hospital of Philadelphia designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Nursing Accreditation Statement The Children s Hospital of Philadelphia is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. Cancellation and Refund Policy The Children s Hospital of Philadelphia reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to any unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation or postponement, The Children s Hospital of Philadelphia will refund any registration fees, less a $40 service charge, but is not responsible for any related costs, charges or expenses to participants, including cancellation charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies. In order to process refunds for course withdrawals, cancellation must be received in writing by Wednesday, March 2, No refunds will be issued thereafter. Hotel Accommodations A block of rooms has been reserved at reduced rates at The Sheraton University City, located just a few blocks from Children s Hospital. The group overnight rate is $172 single and double occupancy plus a 15.2 percent room tax.
