Target Audience: Our target audience would be physicians specializing in family practice, gynecology, geriatrics, internal medicine, nurses, and other health care professionals in the state of Arkansas. The conference will provide a forum for education and networking. Course Objectives: Demonstrate skills necessary in the practice of gynecology. Discuss healthcare disparities in the Arkansas rural communities. Discuss the importance and the need to take care of women in the state of Arkansas. Explain the gap in knowledge base for gynecology in evidence-based medicine. Statement of Need, Overall Purpose and Learner Objectives: The planners for this event recognized that in the state of Arkansas, there are no women s health conferences currently occurring. Our conference was created to provide Arkansas doctors and healthcare professionals' updated information about women s health topics. The conference will be presented live as well as teleconference to various sites. This method of delivery will allow Arkansas doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals the opportunity to get much needed information from this groundbreaking conference. It will focus on improving outcomes through improving practice by providing a forum for participants to sharpen their clinical management skills related to women s health. Every effort has been made to translate the latest information into practical, useful knowledge that can be directly applied in clinical practice. The unifying theme of the day is best practices related to the health care of women throughout the state of Arkansas.
