Homeroom teachers, Community Service forms should be returned to homerooms. Please track on Progress Book, and then turn into Mrs. Hogue. 3. See You at the Pole will be held Wed., Sept. 26, 2012, 7:00 am, at the flag pole in front of the HS. This is a student led, time of reflection & prayer for our school community, nation and world. This year s theme is Awake. All staff, students & community members are invited to support this cause. 4. Mrs. Davis and the FFA will be conducting the 1 st blood drive of the year on Thurs., Sept. 27, 2012, 9:00 am-1:00 pm in the gym. Tentative names & schedules will be forwarded in a separate The boys sectional golf tournament is Thurs., Sept. 27, 2012, 8:30 am, at Pipestone. The following students will be out all day: Josh Childers, Collin Kindell, Colin Flora, Robert Parish, Alec Gray, and Dylan Wilkerson 6. The girls tennis team will be traveling to Thomas Cloud Park for League meets on Thurs., Sept. 27, 2012, 9:00 am. If raining, the meet will take place at Dayton Center Courts. The following tennis players will be out all day. These same girls will be out all day on Tues., Oct. 2, 2012, for Sectional play at Troy Park, 9:00 am. You must notify Mrs. Dafler before Fri., Sept. 28, 2012, to schedule your vaccine. 15. SMART Goals are due by Oct. 1, Nov. 30 th is set for our college apparel day. Please remember to wear gear from your undergraduate school. 17. Reminder: Professional Leave slips needs to be turned in prior to the monthly board meeting dates for approval (3 rd Mon. each month). Risk is taken if you do not turn in your leave slip on a timely manner. 18. Student accounts have been created for ACT prep online for BHS juniors & seniors. Mrs. Donati has the list of user names & passwords. Please encourage student to stop in the guidance office to pick up their passwords. If teachers are interested in an account, see Mr. Bronner. 19. There will be a 5K walk/run that will benefit our Athletic Boosters Program. Please consider signing up to participate. Your money will go straight to the Brookville Athletic Booster Fund. Eaton National Bank along with several other local businesses are hosting the 2nd Harvest Dash for Booster Cash 5K walk/run and Tot Trot 1K on October 14th in honor of the local Athletic Booster Clubs. All proceeds will go toward the school of the participant s choice: Eaton, National Trail, Preble Shawnee, Tri-County North, Twin Valley South or Brookville. Please help spread the word by forwarding it on to others and encouraging friends, family, teammates, co-workers, etc. to participate. 4 20. Brookville Staff Gear is available to purchase. Samples are in the HS conference room. Please turn in your order w/ payment to Mrs. Hogue ASAP. 21. The Ford Test Drive will take place on Oct. 6, This is a fundraiser for the Stadium project. One person from each address over 18 years of age, can test drive a Ford between 9:00 am- 4:00 pm in the band practice lot. $20.00 will be donated for each participant. Please contact Mr. Lindsey to sign up. 22. Mini footballs are being sold for a chance to win $5,000.00! Footballs will be dropped from a tethered hot air balloon directly over the field. A football helmet will be located on the field underneath the balloon. The owner of the ball that drops into the helmet will be the winner of the $5, The cost is only $20.00 per ticket and you need not be present to win. The drop is scheduled for Fri., Oct. 19, 2012, after the football game against Franklin. See Mr. Lindsey to purchase tickets. 23. Currently, Mrs. Donati is scheduling college rep visits. This is simply a draft as she has been fielding calls all week to schedule visits. More will definitely be added! September 24th - Sinclair at 11:30 am 26th - Ohio State (Lima) at 1:45 pm 27th - University of Dayton at 9:00 am October 9th - University of Rio Grande at 8:00 am 17th - Ohio State University at 1:45 pm Also, Sept. 26th is College Prep Night at Fifth Third Field, 6-8 pm. Please encourage your students to attend. School Credit Forms are available if you would like to award some form of extra credit or free homework pass for your students as a way to encourage them to go to the event and talk to some of the college reps that will be there. 1. Photo retake day is scheduled on Fri., Oct. 12, 2012, 7:00 am, in the auditorium. 2. Feed Brookville will be serving a free hot lunch in the Westbrook Multipurpose Room every Saturday, 11:30 am-12:30 pm, Sept. 8-Nov. 10, Join us for good food and fellowship. 3. Community Service opportunity and help the homeless: Meet every Thursday from 3:00-4:00 pm in Mrs. Vance s room to make tote bags. This is a many week project but SPACE IS LIMITED. Sign up in the office today. Tell your students!] 4. Another great Community Service opportunity is to assist Operation Show Our Love packing boxes for our troops overseas. Please tell your students about this great opportunity! 5. SWAP Day forms were distributed to the students.
