1 CCSU BLUE DEVIL MARCHING BAND 2016 INFORMATION PACKET May 5, 2016 Hello Blue Devil Marching Band 2016 Members! I hope this letter finds you well! I m very excited to get our 2016 season rolling it s going to be a blast! If you haven t already heard, our 2016 production is Darkest Before the Dawn and is full of terrific music and exciting visuals! Enclosed are the following extremely important items please read everything carefully and feel free to contact me with any questions:! 2016 Band Camp Schedule! CCSU Bands Fall 2016 Calendar! Information on housing during Band Camp! Shoe, Glove, T-Shirt Order Form Music will be available during the summer. You will be notified via and via the MB Facebook Page when it is ready to be downloaded! Class Registration every member of the CCSU MB must be registered for the class! If you plan on playing in the marching band ONLY, please register for MUS 144. If you plan on playing in the MB AND a concert band (most common), please register for MUS 142. Connect via social media! If you are not already a member of the CCSU MB Facebook Group, please join ASAP! Band camp is just around the corner. However, before our design team can complete the show, we must have a commitment form returned from every member of the band. Please complete the online form available at ( no later than July 22, Information on housing during band camp is included in this packet. Remember that attendance at band camp is 100% required for each member of the Blue Devil Marching Band. Please arrange work schedules and all other events now so that your schedules are cleared for the entirety of band camp. Camp is our only time to learn our show, so it is essential that we have 100% attendance and participation. Again, I am sincerely looking forward to seeing you all in August. Welcome to the family! Chez Reynolds (see for address) Friday, August 19 (ROOKIES, PERCUSSION, LEADERSHIP)! 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Student Leaders, Rookies, ALL Percussionists may check-in to the dorms early! 1:00pm - 5:00 pm ROOKIE CAMP (Report to Welte Hall, Room 019)! 6:00 pm 10:00 pm- PERCUSSION CAMP (Percussion only) Saturday, August 20 (ALL MEMBERS)! 8:00 am 9:00 am veteran members may check-in to the dorms early! 9:00 am 9:00 pm Band Camp (all members). Report to Welte Hall 019 at 9:00am. 3 Information on Housing During Band Camp New Members, Student Leaders, and Percussionists who will be living on campus may check-in on Friday, August 19 between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm (location TBD). If your fall placement was a room being used for summer, you may be housed in a temporary room, and then moved to your fall placement later in the week. I will let you know who this affects as band camp gets closer! If you are planning to move in early, you must indicate this on your MB commitment form. If you do not know your permanent dorm assignment yet, type unknown and keep me informed via . *Please note that new students who are going to live on campus must have their university physical completed including all shots before band camp. Returning Members who will be living on campus may check-in on Saturday, August 20 between 8:00 am and 9:00 am (location TBD).
