7 UNIT SpotLight Pack 133, Mendham, Black River District Pack 133 in Mendham, Black River District, chartered by the Hilltop Presbyterian Church, has had a busy Scouting year with their boys, with many fun activities and achievements to be proud of. Almost one third of our Scouts earned the National Summertime award and one den earned the National Summertime Den award last summer. The pack had a very successful summer program, including a rocketry event, overnight at the Staten Island Yankees, and a Cub Scout Olympics event. For the second year in a row, Pack 133 has achieved Gold status for Journey to Excellence. Our Scouts sold more than 387 cases of popcorn for a total sale of $26,327 with a net income of $11,457 in The current committee chair has completed and received his Wood Badge beads, and a second leader has completed the two weekend training and is working his ticket. After 5 years, our current Cubmaster will be crossing over with his son to Boy Scouts, and the pack will be introducing a new Cubmaster at our B&G on Saturday, February 25. In the spring of 2016, the pack committee organized a very successful visit to Howe Cavern in upstate NY, with an overnight adventure at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY. Fifty-six parents, scouts and siblings enjoyed the trip. Programs throughout the year included a visit from the Seeing Eye, Morris County Sherriff s K-9 unit, NJ Search & Rescue K9 unit, and Rizzo s reptiles.
