3 TASK ALL1000 Complete assignments/special projects as directed The member will successfully complete all assignments and/or special projects to specifications as directed and within the specified time frame, budgetary requirements (if applicable), and applicable general orders. ALL1001a Maintain work areas/vehicles The member ensures that their work area/vehicle is clean, organized, safe and presentable in accordance with agency policies and procedures. ALL1002a Administer first aid/cpr The member assesses injuries and administers appropriate first aid to injured person, requesting additional medical assistance if necessary in accordance with agency policies. ALL1003a ALL1005 ALL1006 ALL1007 ALL1009 DD3021c DD3024 Complete, update, submit required reports/documents/forms Participate in training, seminars/conferences as directed/required Attend shift briefings or staff meetings as required/directed Maintain time/attendance/leave sheets Report found or potential safety, maintenance, or non-compliance issues Maintain care/control/custody of inmates Subdue /control disorderly inmate/offender/detainee The member will thoroughly and accurately complete, update, and submit or forward all required reports, documents and forms to the appropriate authority/personnel in a timely manner pursuant to applicable state regulations and in accordance with agency policies and procedures. As applicable, the member actively participates in training classes, seminars, and simulations exercises (if applicable) designed to enhance job specific skills, knowledge, and abilities or to fulfill specific requirements. The member is on time for and attends shift briefings or staff meetings, recording all pertinent information and directives, and providing superiors and colleagues with job/shift related information. The member accurately maintains and submits in a timely manner their time/attendance/leave sheets pursuant to agency policies. The member immediately reports identified or potential maintenance, safety, and/or non-compliance findings, hazards, and incidents to the appropriate member and/or department. The member accurately and thoroughly documents the incident/findings and responds as directed or as required. The member maintains effective and safe care, control, and custody of inmates at all times pursuant to all agency and state rules/regulations and policies. The member controls/restrains/subdues inmates/offenders/detainees by the use of the proper restraining hold, control device, and/or OC consistent with FMJS requirements, applicable Statutes, and agency policies. 4 DD3025 Resolve inmate/offender/detainee disputes The member mediates and successfully resolves disputes between inmates/offenders/detainees implementing or recommending the appropriate disciplinary actions consistent with FMJS regulations and agency policies. DD3028 Patrol work areas The member observes work area activities and reports any unusual or abnormal inmate/offender/detainee behaviors or physical conditions consistent with FMJS requirements and agency policies. DD3029b Search inmate/offender/detainee The member will conduct a thorough pat down search of inmates/offenders/detainees (including trustees) locating and seizing any contraband or weapons pursuant to FMJS requirements and in accordance with applicable Statutes and agency policies. The member generates and submits the appropriate report if required. DD3029d Search inmate property The member locates and confiscates unauthorized inmate property/weapons/contraband consistent with applicable FMJS requirements and agency policies. DD3049 Advise Medical of inmates/offenders/detainees requiring treatment/special programs The member advises Medical of inmate/offender/detainee problems requiring any special services pursuant to FMJS requirements and agency policies. DD3057 Issue/receive/control keys The member will maintain at all times the security and accountability for any and all keys issued or received pursuant to agency policies and state laws if applicable, ensuring that all keys are returned at the end of the shift in accordance with agency policies if required. DD3070a Prevent escape/attempted escape As applicable, the member will prevent an escape or attempted escape by utilizing the minimum force required to apprehend or control the inmate/offender/detainee. As required, the officer will contact control room and/or supervisor immediately to report the escape/attempted escape. The officer will maintain the custody and security of all other inmates/offenders/detainees and ensure no other individuals are injured, pursuant to FMJS requirements and in accordance with agency policies. DD3073 Apply restraint device The member correctly applies the most appropriate restraint device for the situation in order to control and secure the inmate/offender/detainee without causing undue pain or injury consistent with FMJS requirements and agency policies. If applicable, the member adjusts, replaces and/or removes restraints as necessary. Page 3 of 10

5 DD3081b DD3096 DD3100 Maintain and update area of responsibility logs The member will accurately record and document all required information in order to correctly maintain and update all applicable logs within their area of responsibility pursuant to FMJS requirements and in accordance with agency policies. Counsel inmates/offenders/detainees The member will perform crisis intervention and/or verbally counsel inmates/offenders/detainees to affect positive behavioral or attitude changes while maintaining the integrity of the inmate's/offender's/detainee's constitutional rights pursuant to FMJS regulations and in accordance with agency policies. Supervise inmate workers/inmates on work details The member will supervise and direct the trustees in the proper performance of their daily tasks while maintaining the security, safety, and control of the inmate/offender pursuant to applicable FMJS regulations and in accordance with agency policies. DD3118 Respond to officer assistance calls As applicable, the member will immediately respond to officer calls for assistance and provide the appropriate assistance necessary to maintain control and custody of the inmates/offenders/detainees while preventing potential injury to other facility personnel or inmates/offenders/detainees pursuant to agency policies. DD3120a Supervise/search facility areas The member will supervise or effectively and thoroughly search facility areas in a systematic manner, locating and seizing any contraband and preserving any found evidence in accordance with FMJS applicable regulations and agency policies. DD3620 DD3621a Obtain emergency medical assistance Evacuate area of responsibility during emergency situations The member will request appropriate assistance ASAP in order to minimize pain and injury to the inmate/offender/detainee/ya recruit (if applicable), facility personnel and/or the public pursuant to FMJS regulations and in accordance with agency policies. The member ensures area of responsibility is completely evacuated as quickly as possible while maintaining the safety, security, control and accountability of all staff, inmates, and visitors/public consistent with state requirements if applicable and in accordance with agency policies and procedures. DD3622a Report and/or extinguish fires The member is knowledgeable in the fire detection equipment and will respond to all alarms, identify the area of concern and notify the affected area supervisor. The member will prohibit access to the affected areas to non essential personnel. If appropriate and trained in fire suppression, the member will utilize available fire suppression equipment to extinguish the fire if at all possible. Page 4 of 10

6 DD3624a DD3624b DD3624c DD3649 Report and/or respond to penetrations/intrusions, escapes, or security breaches Report/respond to riots, fights, disorders, or unusual activity Report sabotage, pilferage, or security violations Process inmate/offender/detainee request forms The member gives immediate detailed report/information regarding any penetrations/intrusions, security breaches and/or escapes as applicable, in accordance with agency policies. The member generates and submits a detailed accurate report of the incident if required pursuant to agency policy. The member will immediately report emergency situations including riots, fights, disorders, or any unusual activities to the appropriate post or supervisor as appropriate, detailing location, type of incident, number of inmates/offenders/detainees/persons involved, and request for assistance if needed pursuant to agency policies. The member will follow established procedures and/or verbal instructions from authorized superiors when responding to the situation as appropriate. The member generates and submits a detailed accurate report of the incident pursuant to agency policy The member will immediately and accurately report any sabotage, pilferage, or security violations to a supervisor and/or control room as appropriate, in accordance with agency policies. The member generates and submits a detailed accurate report of the incident if required pursuant to any applicable regulations and agency policy The member processes inmate/offender/detainee request forms, researching and forwarding the requested information and/or wristband if applicable, to the appropriate inmate/offender/detainee either directly or via agency designated personnel in a timely manner pursuant to FMJS regulations and in accordance with agency policies. GS1170 Perform shift change procedures The member correctly performs shift change procedures, ensuring that all required information, documentation, keys etc. are communicated/provided to the reliving deputy prior to leaving the assigned post pursuant to agency policies. LE5026b POLICY Investigate/document injury to persons in custody and/or visitors As applicable, the member will respond immediately to any injury suffered by any persons in custody and/or visitors under their control, appropriately providing or obtaining medical assistance if required. The member will ensure an accurate and concise report is generated, including photographs if required, documenting the injuries and incident in accordance with applicable regulations and agency policies. 7 PL1000 Accepts supervision, direction, feedback, and guidance The member responds to supervision, guidance, direction, and feedback of superiors in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with general orders. PL1001 Grooming and dress The member is appropriately groomed and attired so as to present a professional image in accordance with general orders. PL1002 Abide by Code of Conduct The member will conduct him/herself in an ethical and professional manner, abiding by the established code of conduct as stipulated in general orders. PL1003 Leave and Attendance The member will follow all leave and attendance related policies/procedures, including, but not limited to arriving on time, working the entire shift, submission of vacation and member requests, notification of supervisor regarding absence from work due to illness or untimely incidents. PL1004 Contact with public The member demonstrates a polite, helpful, courteous, and professional image when engaged in any activity with the public. PL1005 Message return/follow-up As applicable, the member will check their assigned mailbox, telephone/electronic messages ( ) responding to messages in a prompt and professional manner. PL1006 Operation and care of equipment The member properly operates and cares for equipment within the specified parameters and in accordance with general orders. PL1007 Human diversity awareness The member demonstrates an understanding, consideration, and respect of cultural, religious, and gender differences when interacting with the public and colleagues. PROFICIENCY PR1000 Knowledge, interpretation, and application of General Orders The member has the ability to read, interpret, follow and apply general orders as related to the job performed by the incumbent and demonstrate this knowledge via oral or written testing if required and in daily job performance. PR1002a Officer safety The member is cognizant of and demonstrates appropriate officer safety guidelines/techniques at all times. PR1002b Situational awareness The member is aware and alert to the surrounding conditions and situations and is able to adapt to unexpected changes in such conditions and situations to successfully and safely complete the task at hand. 8 PR1002d Firearms proficiency The member maintains firearms proficiency and demonstrates it on the firearms range according to the prescribed frequency, scoring at or above the specified minimum level of proficiency. PR1002f Radio communications The member utilizes the 2-way radio for official communications only, communicating in a clear, concise, and intelligible manner using a level tone of voice under all conditions and at all times. PR1002i Self initiated activity The member demonstrates self initiated activity in order to contribute to goal achievement consistent with agency vision pursuant to agency policies. PR1002j Physical Proficiency The member maintains physical fitness at a level sufficient to perform assigned job duties and demonstrates fitness through the PAT. PR1005a Problem solving The member has the ability and appropriate judgment to look beyond surface issues to identify and analyze problems and develop effective responses and solutions to resolve such problems.
