3 TASK ALL1000 Complete assignments/special projects as directed The member will successfully complete all assignments and/or special projects to specifications as directed and within the specified time frame, budgetary requirements (if applicable), and applicable general orders. ALL1001a Maintain work areas/vehicles The member ensures that their work area/vehicle is clean, organized, safe and presentable in accordance with agency policies and procedures. The member accurately maintains and submits in a timely manner their time/attendance/leave sheets pursuant to agency policies. The member inspects the vehicle prior to shift to ensure that the vehicle is safe to operate and all emergency equipment is operational. The member inventories required supplies/tools/equipment and replaces items as needed pursuant to agency policies. Found malfunctions or deficiencies are corrected pursuant to the prescribed procedures pursuant to agency policies. The member will accurately document and carefully maintain the security and control of all collected evidence, ensuring the integrity of the evidence and limited accessibility so the evidence may be presented and accepted by a court of law pursuant to state and federal statutes consistent with agency policies and procedures, to include human tissues or fluids or physical evidence having potential biological contamination. The member correctly recognizes colors, attire, gestures, tattoos, and other gang specific characteristics to assist in identifying gangs/gang members responsible for criminal activity. Page 2 of 13

4 CMP5090d Counsel gang members The member informally counsels gang members, explaining the consequences of their actions and providing assistance/direction to modify gang member behavior with the goal of turning gang members away from the gang culture and becoming productive members of the community. CMP5090e Provide referrals for gang members The member provides gang members open to rehabilitation with the names of various agencies/support services organizations designed to assist youths in establishing and maintaining a positive and self sufficient lifestyle with the goal of becoming a productive member of the community and disassociating with gangs. DARE5854a DARE5854b Schedule DARE classes with school administrators Prepare/review/update DARE lesson plans/ supplements/materials The member schedules and coordinates DARE classes with participating school administrators, ensuring that there are no scheduling conflicts. The member ensures that DARE lesson plans, supplements, and materials are prepared for class. The member incorporates new lesson materials/content as the DARE program is updated and/or modified. DARE5854c Teach DARE classes The member teaches drug abuse resistance education classes, ensuring that the course objectives are communicated to the students in an effective manner. DARE5854d DARE5854e DARE5854f Liaison with DARE State Coordinator Participate in local/state/national DARE officer conferences/meetings Participate in DARE graduation ceremonies The member maintains open and clear channels of communications with the DARE coordinator in order to enhance program effectiveness, review new program updates, and to ensure that the program is in compliance with established guidelines and meets the intended objectives. The member participates in DARE deputy meetings and conferences to share ideas and exchange information with the goal of formulating recommendations to better enhance the DARE program and resolve issues. The member participates in the DARE graduation ceremonies, preparing and delivering a well planned speech. DARE5854h Attend fairs/special events The member attends fairs and special events to promote the DARE program and disseminate DARE program information. DARE5854i DARE5854j Promote integration of DARE program objectives with traditional educational curricula Coordinate/participate in DARE related activities and programs The member encourages educators to integrate DARE program objectives with other educational curricula/classes. The member coordinates and/or participates in related DARE activities and programs such as panel discussions, essay contests, and the role model program etc. Page 3 of 13

5 DARE5854m DARE5854n Promote parental involvement in DARE program Promote faculty involvement in DARE program The member promotes parental involvement in the DARE program by sending the DARE Parent Letter home for the student and parents to sign and return to the DARE officer. The member encourages faculty to actively participate in the DARE program by disseminating DARE program materials and information to faculty members, recommending methods of participation, attending faculty meetings, and through personal contacts with faculty members. DARE5854p Maintain DARE certification The member completes all requirements to maintain current DARE deputy certification. LE5003 Perform field drug test The member correctly tests suspected illegal/controlled substances using the field chemical reagent drug test kit. Substances testing positive are seized and the appropriate legal action taken. LE5011 Provide assistance to other units. The member responds to calls for assistance, providing the requesting unit with the assistance required to safely resolve the situation in accordance with agencies policies. LE5035 LE5042a Confront and control or disperse demonstrators, rioters, or crowds. Search for missing, lost, or runaway juveniles. Given adequate personnel and equipment for the situation at hand, the deputy utilizes only the force required to control or disperse the crowd with the goal of restoring peace and order without causing undue injury or property damage in accordance with agency policies. The member gathers all pertinent information / photographs / description and plans and conducts search, either finding the juvenile or reports no contact in accordance with agency policies. LE5042b Counsel juveniles/guardians/families The member uses appropriate counseling techniques in accordance with agency/school Board policies and legal requirements to counsel juveniles and/or family/guardian, providing them with factual and legal information regarding consequences of unlawful behavior and the legal rights of the juvenile. The member makes appropriate referrals if required. LE5052d Make arrest Given an active warrant or probable cause, the member locates, apprehends and arrests suspects without undue harm and ensures the suspect's rights are not violated while maintaining officer safety in accordance with agency policies/procedures. 6 LE5052e Apply handcuffs/restraints Given probable cause, an arrest warrant, or officer safety concerns, the member will properly apply handcuffs/restraints in such a manner as to prevent the person from removing the handcuffs/restraints and without intentionally or negligently causing physical discomfort or violating the constitutional rights of the person consistent with agency policies. The member interviews persons in a professional manner, obtaining and recording accurate and pertinent information without violating the individual's rights pursuant to agency policies. LE5066b Respond to bomb / explosive threat. First responders will turn off radios/communications devices at the agency prescribed distance from the threat location and upon arrival will assist in searching for an explosive device. If a suspicious device is located, the officer will assist in evacuating all personnel to a safe location and secure the scene pending the arrival of the bomb squad, in accordance with agency policies. LE5067 File complaints with state attorney office. The officer files a complaint with the State Attorney accurately describing the charges without violating the constitutional rights of the accused consistent with state law and agency policies. LE5074a Control disorderly or irate persons. The member controls the person(s) in question, applying only the necessary force for the situation while maintaining the safety of all involved in accordance with agency policies. LE5075b Testify at trials, hearings, grand juries or depositions. The member testifies at trials, hearings, grand juries, and depositions, and answers all questions in a truthful, and impartial manner without volunteering additional information other than that requested in accordance with general orders. When required, the member diligently and professionally represents the agency on boards or committees, attending all meetings and providing colleagues with useful and productive input related to the committee's mission and goals. Generate monthly intelligence report The member generates monthly intelligence reports, ensuring that the information is accurate, up to date, and informative.. Assist in developing/implementing school emergency response plans to armed threats/incidents Respond to campus armed threat incidents/situations The member works with school administrators, security officials, and other agency personnel to develop and implement effective plans/responses to various armed threat incidents and scenarios with the goal of ensuring the safety and security of the students and staff and terminating the incident as quickly as possible. Given an armed threat incident/situation, the member assesses the situation and follows the prescribed procedures with the primary goal of maintaining the safety and security of staff and students, and the secondary goal of neutralizing the threat. SR5847 Enforce campus parking rules. The officer will monitor campus parking and issue citations to parking rule offenders in accordance with agency policies and procedures. SR5848 Escort students / staff as required. The officer will safely escort threatened students or staff members to and from campus destinations with the approval of a supervisor as applicable. SR5849 SR5853a SR5853b SR5870a Conduct or assist with school campus searches. Participate in education related conferences/workshops Participate in agency sponsored youth programs Patrol school/campus grounds/facilities Given probable cause, the officer will thoroughly search or assist school officials in locating and seizing contraband/weapons and preserving any found evidence consistent with agency policies. As applicable, searches may include lockers and/or personal property. The member actively participates in faculty meetings, conferences, and teacher training workshops to further the goals, mission, and values of the various programs. The member actively participates in various agency sponsored youth programs with the goal of fostering productive and positive life skills. 8 SR5870b Conduct school/campus facilities/structures security checks The member conducts regular and as needed/directed security checks of school/campus facilities and structures, documenting and reporting any security and/or safety deficiencies to the appropriate authority/personnel in a timely manner. SR5870c Respond to/confront trespassers The member responds to and confronts school/campus trespassers, documenting and taking the appropriate trespass violation actions. SR5871 Provide crime prevention information to school staff and students The member provides crime prevention information and counseling to school staff and students. SR5872 Issue juvenile citations The member issues citations for minor violations. SR5873 Provide security for school functions/special events The member provides security at school functions and special events, enuring the safety and security for attendees. PL1003 Leave and Attendance The member will follow all leave and attendance related policies/procedures, including, but not limited to arriving on time, working the entire shift, submission of vacation and member requests, notification of supervisor regarding absence from work due to illness or untimely incidents. PL1004 Contact with public The member demonstrates a polite, helpful, courteous, and professional image when engaged in any activity with the public. PL1005 Message return/follow-up As applicable, the member will check their assigned mailbox, telephone/electronic messages ( ) responding to messages in a prompt and professional manner.
