6 Early Childhood Education and Care We care for children Babies to five years old There are an estimated 671 million children under the age of five in the world today (Overseas Development Institute UK, 2016). With more women in every country now returning to work and global labour force participation rates of around 60%, the vast majority of these children will need some sort of non-parental care during the day. The first five years of a child s life are vital to their physical, social and cognitive development. Early Childhood Education and Care is a rewarding and fulfilling career that gives you the opportunity to teach and care for the next generation of young people. The fast-growing number of older people means an estimated 86 million Aged Care professionals will be needed by 2030 (UN Sustainable Development Goals, 2015). 19 APPLICATION INFORMATION How do I enrol? So you ve made the decision to study with CHARLTON BROWN? Congratulations! There are two easy ways to enrol as an international student. You can apply directly through the application portal on our website. Alternatively, you can apply through one of CHARLTON BROWN s Representative International Education Agents who can assist you with your visa application and guide you through the enrolment process. The Process: 1. Review admissions criteria, pre-enrolment information and key dates on our website including: English Language Entry Requirements Academic Entry Requirements Key Dates 2. Prepare your certified supporting documents 3. Submit your application and supporting documents through the online application portal or through a CHARLTON BROWN Representative International Education Agent 4. Receive your Letter of Offer 5. Accept and pay for your offer. Note the expiry date for acceptance 6. Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment and pre-departure information 7. Apply for your visa 8. Travel to Brisbane and attend your CHARLTON BROWN Orientation Session. Completing your Application to Study All applications for study must be submitted via the CHARLTON BROWN website. Students are advised to apply no later than three months prior to their desired course commencement date. Australian Visas Student Visa - (subclass 500) A Student Visa in Australia is a temporary visa issued to non-australian residents and is granted to students who are enrolled in a CRICOS registered, full time course in Australia. International students can be issued with a multiple entry visa for the duration of their study in Australia. You can travel to and from Australia within the visa period. Further information on Student Visa eligibility and requirements is available on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website. Working and Holiday Visa - (Subclass 417 and 462) These visas are for young people who want to holiday and work in Australia for up to a year. Applicants must be between 18 and 31 years old, hold a passport from an eligible country and be without a dependent child at any time during their stay in Australia.
