SIGNATURE EVENT MOUNTAIN MAIDENS: ALL IRISH MUSIC CONCERT Sunday, March 19, 2:00 p.m. The Mountain Maidens are three voices blended in splendid harmonies that will lift your spirit and warm your heart. They sing folk, country, gospel, and songs of social justice, accompanied by guitars, banjo, dulcimer, autoharp, spoons and castanets. Inspired by Appalachian music, they have brought the deep modal harmonies of this tradition to their repertoire. They also sing rich madrigals, Sacred Harp Music and hymns, and Irish songs. Free and appropriate for all ages; advance registration requested. 2 Letter from the Director Dear Residents, March and April will be exciting months at the Library. On Sunday, March 19, we are proud to present one of our Signature Events, Mountain Maidens: All Irish Music Concert. On Tuesday, April 4, we will hold our annual Budget Vote and Trustee Election. Vote Day activities include Cupcake Decorating, the Jester Jim Show, a program about Cuba, and it s also Amnesty Day no fines on any overdue items you return. This year s budget complies with the New York State tax cap, and includes increases in both the book and programming budgets. Please be sure to come to the Library and cast your vote on April 4. Yes, the Budget Review & Meet the Candidates meeting will be on Monday, March 20, at 7:00 p.m. Q. Where do I vote? A. You vote in the library on Tuesday, April 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Q. Who is eligible to vote? A. All residents of the CSH School District who are registered to vote in the school district s annual budget vote are eligible to vote in the CSH Library election. Yes, if you are unable to vote in person, you may apply for an absentee ballot. Applications will be available at the Circulation Desk and on our website after March 1. STUDY BUDDIES HOMEWORK CLUB For students in grades 3-6 Wednesdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Thursdays, 4:00-6:00 p.m. March 1- April 6 Teen volunteers will give support, assistance, and encouragement to students in grades 3-6. Caregivers are required to remain in the library during all children s programs.
