This end of the year meeting is also a time for members to gather and enjoy the warm spirit of the holiday festivities. Live entertainment will be provided by the 5 Star Band, and guests will share a special holiday meal, along with a fun door-prize giveaway. New members, you are welcome to attend and sign up for your 2018 membership as well as get acquainted and enjoy the meeting and luncheon. Don t Be Fooled BEWARE: Health Scams Seminar Wednesday, December 6 10 to 11 a.m. Discover how to spot medication/supplement health scams, recognizing common language used to hook you in, such as QUICK FIX, CURE-ALL, MIRACLE CURE, NO RISK and similar words. Zumba Gold Fitness Thursdays, Beginning November 30 9 to 10 a.m. Dance and have fun! Zumba Gold is a lower intensity and easy-to-follow version of the wildly popular Zumba classes. This course focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination and is suitable for all fitness levels. Sponsored by St. Jude Hospital. Helpful topics will include getting and keeping diabetes under control, possible complications, prevention, nutritional considerations and other self-care issues. To attend the program, preregister at Get Assistance Filing Your Taxes The volunteer income tax assistance program will be available Thursdays, from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., February 1 through April 12, for adults 60 years of age or older with moderate incomes. Beginning January 2, call for an appointment; appointments are required. Instructions regarding what to bring to your appointment will be noted in the January Fullerton Senior News issue.

There were many prizes for the winners with the most creative costumes. Full information about this important event was provided on the November newsletter. Thanks to all the members who made it to our Polly s Pie Fundraiser on November 2nd, it was a great success! This is my last President s Message column since we will have a new President elected at our Annual Meeting. Furthermore, I have enjoyed the task of working to improve our Club for the last two years. The status of the Club is wonderful with a strong financial balance sheet, but we should continue to work on increase our membership contributions. Remember that the volunteers are the driving force of our Club. You may even find a comfortable location to show your talents to help our members and other seniors by joining the club. Our World Travelogue Duplicate Bridge Tuesdays, 12-3:30 p.m. Volunteer Tax Counselors Sought Each tax season, the center offers free volunteer tax assistance services to older adults in the community. In preparation for the 2018 tax season, the center is asking that individuals interested in volunteering as tax preparation counselors please contact our sponsor organization for this free service, the AARP Foundation, online at to receive more information. Volunteers are also sought to serve as receptionists, assisting with check-ins: please call for more information. Leave 9 a.m. return 5 p.m. The California Science Center has brought fun and science together since 1998, and the center continues to develop innovative ways to teach the community the wonders of science. We will have the opportunity to see the intricacies of the human body up close at the Body Worlds Exhibition, and then watch the Amazon Adventure film in 3D IMAX.
