1 Volume 36 Number West Commonwealth Avenue fullerton COMMUNITY CENTER Fullerton, CA (714) January 2016 Income Tax Assistance Program Too Good to Be True? Appointments are required: starting January 4, you may call the center at It is important to call the center if you must cancel your appointment. BEWARE: Health Scams Wednesday, February 24 1 to 2 p.m. The old adage usually rings true: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Yet, Americans often run the risk of falling prey to fraudulent claims and then paying a heavy price financially and, sometimes, also health-wise. The seminar will focus on a discussion about how to spot medication/supplement health scams, common language used to hook you in, such as QUICK FIX, CURE-ALL, MIRACLE CURE, NO RISK and similar words. Avoid health scams and also learn how to report an incident. Free program sponsored by Adult Public Health Nursing Services. Preregister at Bring the following to your appointment: last year s state and federal tax returns, Social Security Card and statement (SSA-1099), any income records, including W-2s from employment, unemployment statements, pension and IRA statements, interest and dividend statements, itemized deductions, brokerage statements, state and federal estimated tax payment records, and for those under Covered California Health Care, Form 1095A or Exemption Certificate; also a voided check for any direct deposit refund.
