3 Featured Speakers Dr. David Kohl, Professor of Agricultural Finance, Virginia Tech David Kohl received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University. For 25 years, Kohl was Professor of Agricultural Finance and Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia. He has published four books and over 1,500 articles on financial and business-related topics in journals, extension, and other popular publications. Kohl regularly writes for Corn and Soybean Digest, and other ag lending publications. Kohl is currently President of AgriVisions, LLC, a knowledge-based consulting business providing cutting-edge programs to leading agricultural organizations worldwide. He is also a business coach and part owner of Homestead Creamery, a value added dairy business in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Steve Apodaca, SVP, Agriculture and Rural Banking, ABA Steve Apodaca is senior vice president of American Bankers Association s Center for Agricultural and Rural Banking. He has more than 25 years of experience in agricultural, commercial and real estate lending and has worked at institutions of all sizes in Florida, Texas and New Mexico. Apodaca comes to the association from Wells Fargo Bank in Las Cruces, N.M., where he served as vice president and principal business relationship manager. At Wells Fargo, Apodaca was responsible for business development and community efforts. His agricultural banking work focused on onion, chili, cotton, pecan, alfalfa and grain producers as well as cattle ranchers. Prior to his time at Wells Fargo, Apodaca was a vice president at BBVA Compass, a regional manager of commercial banking at First National Bank of Arizona and vice president of regional business development at Temecula Valley Bank. Representative Trent Kelly, U.S. Representative for MS 1st District In June 2015, Trent Kelly won a special election runoff to represent the First District of Mississippi in the 114th Congress. Prior to being elected to Congress, Kelly served as a District Attorney for the 1st Circuit Judicial District managing all felony cases. Kelly has spent 30 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard as an Engineer and is currently serving as a Colonel. He has received two Bronze Stars, the Combat Action Badge, the DeFleury Medal, and numerous other federal and state awards for his service. Kelly graduated from East Central Community College and earned his bachelor s degree and juris doctor from the University of Mississippi. In 2010, he received his master s degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

4 Mississippi Bankers Association Registration Information MBA Members: $295 for first registrant and $275 for each registrant from the same bank. Non-Members: $590 for registrant. Registration fees include instruction, refreshment breaks and lunch. Hotel reservations are NOT included in registration fees. Cancellation Policy Full registration fees will be refunded if a cancellation is received on or before July 13, After that date, a $50 processing fee will be retained. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made the day of the conference. Substitutions are welcome at no charge. Hotel Information Conference will be held at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum in Jackson. We have hotel rooms available at the Hilton Hotel on County Line Road for $124 per night. We also have rooms available at the Holiday Inn in Pearl for $120 per night. Please reference the Mississippi Bankers Association when making your reservation. The attendee is responsible for room payment including taxes and expenses. More Information Dress for the workshop is business casual. We recommend that you bring a light sweater or jacket in the instance the room is cool. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10.
