World Vision Somaliland Program wishes to invite applications from highly competent dynamic, self-driven and results oriented Somaliland Residents to fill the following vacancy to be based in Hargeisa Office. Health and Nutrition Project Assistant I: The purpose of the Health & Nutrition Project Assistant I, is to oversee the implementation of health & nutrition project activities in the target health facilities and outreach sites as per world vision and international standards through close monitoring and support of the health facility staff and community members. The Health & Nutrition supervisor is also responsible to ensure implementation of community based activities including selection, training and monitoring the activities of Family Health Workers. The nutrition supervisor will be responsible for the compilation and submission of quality quantitative and qualitative report.

2 Major Responsibilities: Oversee quality and timely implementation of project activities Have good understanding of the project activities, standards and outputs Ensure health centers and project implementation sites have all the required inputs to enable them implement quality program Conduct supportive supervision of fixed and mobile health and nutrition activities using supervision checklist at least once per month including on-the-job training on the findings of supervision Compile and submit quality supervision report with action points after each supervision report and follow up on the action points Ensure all facilities have adequate drugs, medical supplies and vaccines to smoothly run activities Organize and supervise mobile health activities including preparing schedules, ensuring all supplies are available and vaccines are received Assist the project officer in ensuring all staff incentives payment request documents are prepared and submitted to finance Capacity building of MOH staff Conduct training needs assessment for health facility staff Participate in implementation of project staff training according to work plans Conduct training for MCH staffs, including community based staff

3 Compile comprehensive training reports Reporting and data management Ensure the availability of the required registration books, reporting formats, beneficiary cards and other recording and reporting tools in all Health centers and health posts Monitor the proper use of recording and reporting tools for all health & nutrition activities Conduct on-the-job training for the staff on using recording and reporting formats and compiling accurate report Ensure accurate HMIS data is collected and submitted on time Compile quality activity report including supervision report on monthly basis Outreach and community based activities Conduct regular meeting with community leaders and health committees to get feedback on the quality of the program and update them on the progress of activities Ensure community has adequate understanding of the program standards Ensure communities get accurate information on distribution plans Participate in selection, training and supervision of community volunteers especially Family health workers Monitor and support the activities of community volunteers in their activities including regular meeting while supervising health facilities

4 Support the community volunteers in conducting home visits, nutrition screening, IYCF counseling, defaulter tracing and other tasks Other Actively participate in needs assessment, program evaluation and other assessment and surveys Other relevant tasks assigned by your supervisor Other Competencies/Attributes: Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills Must adhere to set security standards Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment Cross cultural sensitivity, flexibility and emotional maturity Ability to exhibit exemplary life style as interpreted in specific local cultural context Perform other duties as required Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior
