1 NUTRITION WORKING GROUP MEETING MINUTES Sunday, 7th of November 2013 at 9:30am Ambassador Hotel Meeting Hall, Hargeisa, Somaliland 1. Welcome and Introductions: The meeting was chaired by Dr. Abdirashiid from MoH who welcomed members to the November 2013 Somaliland NWG meeting and introduced the agenda. 2. Review and endorsement of the last cluster meeting minutes and follow up on the action points: The participants reviewed and endorsed the previous October 2013 meeting minutes. Action points were also followed up. 3. Key Nutrition services and Situation highlights: Partners were briefed on the nutrition interventions update in Hargeisa IDP settlements. WFP and IMC reported that preparation for implementing BSFP in six IDPs settlements is still ongoing. IMC submitted the project proposal to WFP and budget discussions still to be finalized. ANPPCAN reported the continuation of active case finding and providing outpatient therapeutic service for severely malnourished children plus infant and young child feeding counseling in Ayaha2 and 3, Aw Aden as well as New Mohamed Mogeh. Action Point: MOH to follow up the implementation of mobile clinic service for new M. Mogeh IDP with IOM Hargeisa. 4. World Vision SL NGO profile presentation: Mr Abdinasir Primary Health Care manager for World Vision SL comprehensively presented Organisational Profile for WVI: Background: the INGO established 1954 and works over 100 countries all over the world; 27 countries In Africa.

Somalia Resilience Program - Consortium of NGOs including Adra, DRC, COOPI, CARE, OXFAM and ACF with WV as the lead organization. - Covers Somaliland, Puntland and South Central. Activities: Animal production and Health for pastoralists and agro pastoralist. Micro enterprise development. Rangeland Management. Rehabilitation of productive infrastructure. Market Development for agro pastoralists and Pastoralists. Value Chain addition. Processing Technologies. Farmers capacity Building. Cooperative Linkage. 5. Update from Somaliland Chair of Nutrition Working Group Meeting: On behalf of the SL NWG, the chair Mohamed Sheikh provided the following updates to participants of the meeting; 5.1 As planned in the last SL Micro-nutrient Strategy Development task force meeting the 2 nd consultative meeting will take place from th of November 2013 at

Representatives from all nutrition partners as well as line ministers will participate this meeting. 5.2 A UNICEF consultant harmonising public health and nutrition community based interventions planned to visit Somaliland from th of November 2013 to meet with MOH and nutrition partners. 5.3 The protection main streaming for SL nutrition partners will take place from 19 th to 20 th of November 2013 at Maansoor Hotel. Each SL nutrition partner is invited send one person (a programme planning decision maker) for attending this training. 5.4 ANPPCAN announced the dates for the SL task force for developing Code of Marketing Breast Milk Substitutes. Action Point: All SL nutrition partners to send one person to attend the protection mainstreaming training taking place on 19 th and 20 th of November Any Other Business: Date for the Next SL NWG Meeting: Thursday 5th of December 2013

Every six months update GPS and 4W s. 2 Follow up with ANPPCAN on OTP site at Sheedah, and also OTP project ended in Dec 2013 need to start proposal discussions. UNICEF & WFP MoH/ANPPCAN/UNICEF All completed except SRCS Discussions took place and Sheedaha will remain under MOH mobile team responsibility. 3 OTP coverage survey needed for Hargeisa IDP as recent challenge with high malnutrition rates. 4 HPA UNICEF PCA expired need to have discussions for new proposal. 5 Muslim Aid and WFP need to have meeting for payment issues about lack of payment to one MCH in Sanaag area for MCHN. 6 Merlin to share plumpy sup distribution plan with concerned stake holders. MoH/UNICEF Still to done MoH/HPA/UNICEF Done. Discussion between HPA and UNICEF started Muslim Aid/MoH/WFP Payments still pending as WFP cloud not pay MA until the financial reports from previous projects are received. Merlin Done. MERLIN reported that they are using the plumpy sup for the facilities that
5 are not supported by WFP. 7 Follow up with IOM & MoH on IDP issues. MoH/IOM/UNOCHA Yet to be done. MOH to follow up with IOM. 8 Dr. Ahmed to circulate agency profile template MoH Done to partners. 9 WVI to present profile in next meeting. WVI Done in November NWG meeting
