Expanding on our 2006 theme of building bridges for seamless wound care, we acknowledge the complexities of translating knowledge within the political landscape of health care delivery and the need to negotiate and navigate the agendas of health policy makers, researchers and practitioners using a collaborative interprofessional approach. We are delighted to share current innovative wound care initiatives that are occurring at the macro, meso and micro levels. These initiatives will ultimately support the delivery of safer wound prevention and treatment for our patients in all health care sectors. Strategic planning is a deliberate and thoughtful process that helps leaders and staff develop a strategic perspective for planning the future while being able to manage the ongoing day-to-day business activities. It is a process by which the members of an organization understand the context for change, envision its future, and develop the necessary procedures and operations to achieve that future. Members work through each step of this comprehensive planning process from environmental scanning and stakeholder involvement, values and vision - to implementation. This session will help team members to build trust and respect one another, understand their own behaviour and its impact on group productivity and morale, improve communication by flexing their styles, and see the power of diverse working styles in a team setting.
