4 Dr. Jeffrey Turnbull practices internal medicine at The Ottawa Hospital and at several shelters associated with Ottawa Inner City Health. He started his postresidency career at the University of Western Ontario, after which he was recruited to the University of Ottawa in 1991 and served as Vice-Dean of Medical Education. Dr. Turnbull was also a key figure in the Educating Future Physicians for Ontario Project, and served as president of the Medical Council of Canada. In 2001, he was appointed chair of the department of medicine, a position he held until 2008 when he became chief of staff at The Ottawa Hospital. For his many contributions, Dr. Turnbull received the Order of Canada in He was also recognized as the Physician of the Year by the Academy of Medicine of Ottawa in Dr. Turnbull received the CMAE Ian Hart Award for Distinguished Contribution to Medical Education in 2007, the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship in 2006 and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada s Mentor of the Year award in 2003.

5 Barbara Robinson is the Rector of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Brockville. Before returning to congregational ministry as an Anglican priest, she was Assistant Professor of Christian Studies at Booth University College, Winnipeg. Ottawa always feels like home, having completed her PhD in Religious Studies at the University of Ottawa. Much of that work investigated the relationship between religion and medicine in 19th century Britain. During those fruitful years as a Salvation Army officer (clergy) she also worked with the ' best team ever' to establish a hospital based parish nursing model in Ottawa. Breakout Speakers: Dr. Elizbeth (Liz) Diem obtained her BScN from Lakehead University in 1975, MSc from University of Toronto in 1985, and PhD in community health nursing from the University of Texas at Austin in She retired in June 2011 from the University of Ottawa after teaching community health nursing at the undergraduate level and graduate for over 15 years. She co-authored a text titled Community Health Nursing Projects: Making a Difference (2004) and has worked on the Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards since Her present practice involves a website (chnresources.org) for community nurse educators and practitioners and supporting communities of practice for chronic disease self-management in the community. Frances Hudson, RN, PN was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She married her husband Keith 43 years ago in Toronto, and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren. She has worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years in long term care, family physician s office, med-surg nursing in Welland On. Graduated from Women s College Hospital in Toronto She has been a parish nurse since 1998, having taken the Parish Nursing Institute, Wisconsin Model, at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario in 1998 and then going on to complete the Fellowship in Parish Nursing at Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin in Her mentor in that program was Rosemarie Matheus. She ministered as a parish nurse in the United Church of Canada in Brantford Ontario until 2002, Ingersoll Ontario in the Presbyterian Church at the present time, became the Coordinator for the Canadian Association for Parish Nursing Ministry in 2001, having retired from the position in December 2010.

6 Involved in Ingersoll Habitat for Humanity, planning group for Foundations in Parish Nursing Education program at St. Peter s Institute for Catholic Formation, London, ON. Fran has been involved in mentoring parish nurses in their ministries over the course of her twelve years in parish nursing ministry. Anne Marie Webster, R.N., B.A., Parish Nurse, has been married to Moe for 50 years (!) and is the mother of four and grandmother of 3. She has an extensive background in nursing practice, leadership and education mostly in the areas of pediatrics, palliative care, addictions, psychiatric and mental health. She has presented at provincial, national and international conferences and workshops and has published in the area of depression and family nursing. Anne Marie is passionate about parish nursing For the past 10 ½ years, she has been the parish nurse at St. Louis.R.C. Church in Waterloo, Ontario where she has mentored several nurses who have chosen the church setting for their community nursing and nursing leadership practicums. A Member Emeritus of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario, Anne Marie has been an executive member of the Parish Nursing Interest Group since its inception in Previously a facilitator at the Parish Nurse Institute, McMaster Divinity College, she is currently on the Foundations in Parish Nursing course development and program team, out of St. Peter s Institute, London, Ontario, facilitating an educational, spiritual, and personal growth program for Registered Nurses, as well as mentoring nurses completing their requirements for the certificate in parish nursing. Important aspects of her life are family, being a member of a Small Christian Community, volunteering in the Out of the Cold program, genealogy, gardening, swimming and cooking.
