Program Recap - April 19, 2016 Keith Goodwin President and Chief Executive Officer East Tennessee Children's Hospital Our Rotary speaker was Keith Goodwin, the President and Chief Executive Officer East Tennessee Children's Hospital (since June of 2007). Professionally he serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Children's Hospital Alliance of Tennessee, the Vice Chairman of the Board for the Hospital Alliance of Tennessee, and as Chairman of the Board of the Tennessee Hospital Association. Particularly in light of this last role, he addressed the advantages and the critiques of the Insure Tennessee program that has been before the legislature-a program that has the support of the Tennessee Hospital Association. His presentation covered the history of the proposal, the compelling need, the advantages, and the critiques (this program note cannot cover the details that he presented, but see for these details and much more). The question-and-answer time following the presentation was passionate and respectful-a model way for a complex and controversial topic to be addressed.
