Please register for the event online or by calling Sponsored by Jeffrey Blackwell is the fourteenth Police Chief of the Cincinnati Police Department, having taken the oath of office on September 30, He is only the second external hire for the police chief job in the agency s history. Blackwell is a 26-year veteran of the Columbus Police Department. While at the Columbus Police Department, Deputy Chief Blackwell worked his way up in the department, earning the top score on every promotional exam he has taken. He has worked in patrol, traffic, street crime enforcement and coldcase homicide as an officer. Then, after promotion to Sergeant, he also worked in internal affairs, as a burglary detective, and then as a tactical leader in the narcotics area. From 2000 to 2005, he served as a Lieutenant in Patrol, Administration and Traffic, where he developed the traffic management program called Quick- Clear, a protocol for expeditiously removing accidents and obstructions in the streets. Blackwell has served as safety chair on the Columbus Youth Violence Prevention Advisory Board. Its primary focus is to serve as a think-tank advisory panel to reduce youth violence. He graduated from the Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE) program in 2011, is a 2008 graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College, attended the Southern Police Institute-Internal Affairs School, graduated from the Columbus Police Academy (OPATA certified), and holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Mt. The Maasai Mara Shelter will be our base camp from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, We will have a delicious picnic lunch there from 1:00-2:30 p.m. A zookeeper will bring some friends to join us while we enjoy our lunch. Explore the new AFRICA exhibit, see the cheetah runs, bird shows, giraffe feedings in the their new exhibit, and let the kids of all ages enjoy Barkley s Barn Yard Bonanza in the Children s Zoo as you feed the goats and lorikeets. Join in the fun of a scavenger hunt as you search out wild and mysterious places. Admission is $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for children aged The price covers entry, parking, and lunch. If you have a zoo membership, use it and pay only $7.00 per person (ages 2 and up) to cover lunch. A parking pass is available for $5.00 for memberships that do not include parking. 6 The Spring Reunion Roadtrip The Spring Class will convene at SSCC in Hillsboro The Spring Reunion is just around the corner! Candidates in the Spring Class will receive most of their Scottish Rite degrees at Southern State Community College (100 Hobart Dr., Hillsboro, OH 45133, ) on April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The lineup is the 4º, 6, 16, 28, and 30. This marks the first time that the Valley has hosted a Reunion Class outside of the Cincinnati Masonic Center. Cincinnati Hosts Degree Day The 14º and 32º will be featured in this special event New initiates and all Scottish Rite Masons in good standing are invited to the Cincinnati Masonic Center on May 17 for a program that highlights the 14º and 32º. Candidates will be chosen Grand Elect Masons and presented their 14º rings. After the 14º, they will witness the 32º and be proclaimed Sublime Princes of the Royal Secret. The day will conclude with a 32º banquet in the ballroom and, after dinner, live entertainment in the Scottish Rite Auditorium from the Van-Dells. Tickets are will-call only for all May 17 events. Something for the ladies Wives and significant others are invited to take a group excursion on May 17 to the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal for the award-winning exhibition, Diana, A Celebration, which chronicles the life of the late Diana, Princess of Wales. According to the Cincinnati Museum Center, the exhibition presents the life and humanitarian work of Princess Diana through nine galleries containing 150 objects. The ladies will join us for the banquet after the degree conferrals are complete. The bus to the museum leaves the Cincinnati Masonic Center at 1:00 p.m. Candidates ladies are our guests for the banquet and museum trip.
