4 Ring Committee Commissions Special Pin Committee members can display their dedication in a new way Spring 2012 Reunion Schedule Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. The 14º Ring Service Committee recently had a unique lapel pin struck as a way for its members to commemorate and celebrate their efforts in learning and performing the 14º Ring Service. The 1-inch-wide lapel pin features the delta and the Hebrew letter yud, both of which are essential to the design of the outside of the 14º ring, as well as the Latin and English versions of the inscription found within the 14º ring. One performance of the 14º Ring Service at the funeral or another memorial event for a departed Brother earns membership on the 14º Ring Service Committee and the honor of wearing this pin, says L. John Lasonczyk, Deputy Master, Gibulum Lodge of Perfection. The 14º Ring Service may only be performed by members of the committee, and each performance assignment is made by the Deputy Master of Gibulum Lodge of Perfection, who serves as chairman of the 14º Ring Service Committee. For more information about serving on the 14º Ring Service Committee, please contact the Scottish Rite office at The office can also provide specific details about how to request a 14º Ring Service. Please note, though, that it is always best for the funeral director who represents the family of the deceased to call the Scottish Rite office to provide the office with necessary information. 8:00 a.m. Candidate Orientation Location: Chapel 8:50 a.m. 4º, Master Traveler Location: 6th floor auditorium 9:35 a.m. 5º, Perfect Master Location: 6th floor auditorium 10:30 a.m. 14º, Grand Elect Mason Location: Scottish Rite auditorium 11:45 a.m. Membership Luncheon Location: Ballroom 1:30 p.m. 25º, Master of Achievement Location: 6th floor auditorium 2:30 p.m. 32º, Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret Location: Scottish Rite auditorium Valley Reduces Spring Initiation Fees New incentives for membership development are also in place The Valley of Cincinnati s Board of Trustees has voted to lower initiation fees for the Spring 2012 Reunion! Fifth St., Cincinnati, OH Civil War-Era Lodges Needed for Special Valley Project The Valley of Cincinnati s Fall 2012 Reunion will have a Civil War theme. Several unique projects are in progress right now to make this event a truly one-of-akind experience. One such endeavor is a compilation of Civil War records and images from Lodges in the Valley of Cincinnati s ten constituent counties. Lodges chartered before or during that era are almost certain to have minutes or other archival materials that at least reference the Civil War. The Lodges may also have artifacts that tell compelling stories. Lodges that were chartered after the Civil War, even up to the early 20th century, may have Masonic records for members who were veterans of the Civil War. If your Lodge possesses minutes, records, images, archives, artifacts, or other items from the Civil War, please contact event chairman Bill Frank at billfrank30@gmail.com or project coordinator Ben Rosenfield at benr@32masons.com right away. This is a very special opportunity to promote Freemasonry in general, for Masonic Lodges to share their rich histories, and for the Valley of Cincinnati to present an unforgettable Reunion.
