5 Parent Code of Ethics I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice, or other youth sports event. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of a personal desire to win. I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment. I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at all youth sports events. I will remember that the games are for youth - not adults. I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child. I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect, regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability. I promise to help my child enjoy the youth sports experience by doing whatever I can, such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching, or providing transportation. I will require that my child s coach be trained in the responsibilities of being a youth sports coach, and that the coach upholds the Coaches Code of Ethic. I will read the National Standards for Youth Sports and do what I can, to help all youth sports organization implement and enforce them. Youth Sports Program Policies All teams will be formed by the Abilene Parks & Recreation Department. A $5/child late registration fee will be charged for all late registrations. Late registration will be accepted until teams are full. After teams are full, all late registrations will be put on a waiting list. Waiting list applicants will not be guaranteed placement. Late registration sign-ups may not request to be placed on a specific team. All youth must play in the appropriate age/grade division. Requests to be moved to another division will not be granted. Youth will be contacted by their coaches to when/where practices will be held, as well as game schedules. At least one coach from each team must certify through the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA). Requests for three coaches to coach a team will not be allowed unless one of the coaches does not have a child participating in the program. Requests for youth to be placed on the same team as a friend or with a specific coach will be considered, but there are no guarantees. Our goal is to provide the opportunity for participating to all who enter, regardless of skill or ability level. We wish to provide youth with a fun learning experience and the opportunity to develop lifetime leisure skills. STOUT SERVICE & SALES, INC.
