1 Alex P. Allain-Franklin Amelia Bayou Vista Berwick Centerville St. Mary Parish Library Newsletter Visit our website at stmarylibrary.org Patterson West End-Baldwin Summer Summer Reading Program Kicks Off! Fly into a good book at your local branch of the St. Mary Parish Library for our 2015 Summer Reading Program! Themes this year include Every Hero Has A Story, Unmask and Escape The Ordinary. Our kick off day will be held on Monday, June 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We invite you to join us and get registered if you have not, and this will be the first day to check out books that will count towards summer reading minutes. As mentioned above, our goal is to increase READING. Therefore, we are doing things a little differently this year. Readers will need to turn in at least the minimum of 600 minutes or more. (That s just 20 minutes per day.) We encourage you to set higher goals to place as a reading winner. For our finale, we will be hosting a Pizza Extravaganza, featuring final awards, prizes, treats and games. NO ONE will be allowed to attend without an invitation. The ONLY way to obtain an invitation is to READ and TURN IN at least the minimum of 600 minutes. Registration is allowed at only one branch, however, you may attend any activities you wish at any of our other branches. ZOOM in and check out the stories, crafts, music, dance, and other activities being held at the libraries located in Amelia, Baldwin, Bayou Vista, Berwick, Centerville, Franklin and Patterson. Performances this summer will include Daveed Korup, Rhythm N Soul, Roger Day, Ken Waldham, Matthew Noel, Matt Sandbank and a two-part workshop with Trish Ransom.
