1 What the Chapters have done and are doing for the year THE NORTH TEXAS CHAPTER membership rolls have been transferred to the Fort Hood Silver Chapter Accomplishments: NONE Issue: No base or known Army units with a large WO population Recommendations: Research the issue more to better understand the adequate COA to take THE LONE STAR SILVER Ft Sam Houston Texas CHAPTER Accomplishments: Region Director attended the Annual Chapter San Antonio River Walk boat ride and swore in the new Chapter President Don Sammons Issue: Please continue sending meeting minutes, continue executing membership drives. Recommendations: Push more members to the annual AMM each year. Supported the Annual Fort Sam Houston Retiree Day by setting up a both to promote the USAWOA and Chapter Supported Warrant Officer Professional Development events on Fort Sam Houston (WO Mentorship and GI Bill) Several Members served food on Thanksgiving at a Veterans Shelter in San Antonio Supported the Fort Sam Houston Fiesta Day event and raised funds for the Chapter Provided an Annual Chapter College Scholarship of $350 Held the Annual Chapter Christmas Party Held the Annual Chapter San Antonio River Walk boat ride 2011 The Chapter will focus on membership drive and Junior WO Mentorship. 2 THE FORT HOOD SILVER Killeen Texas CHAPTER Accomplishments: The Ft Hood Silver Chapter has successful community events and a successful Golf Tournament fundraiser. The National USAWOA Vice President Pete Hill and the Regional Director James E. Davis were on hand to start the event. The chapter has created a Facebook account to keep members informed. Issue: No Issues. Recommendations: Continue working membership efforts and fundraisers; raise each by 20% for 2011 Seeking to ramp up the 2012 sponsorship of the AMM Ask members to the annual AMM each year. We are thankful for the support of our members to make this chapter a "community squared" chapter. We pride ourselves on giving back to the Lawton community as well as the Warrant Officer Community. Accomplishments: Our chapter has many accomplishments to be proud of since the last AMM. We donated food to the Lawton Food Bank prior to the holiday season. Our chapter established two committees that have been working hard throughout the year; Scholarship and Academic committee. Our chapter gave away two $500 scholarships this year. Our Academic committee keeps up with all WOBC's and WOAC's here at the Fires Center of Excellence to present the Honor Graduate with a gift for academic excellence. So far this year we have presented to six Honor Graduates. One being to the first graduating class of Electronic Warfare Warrant Officer. We launched our revised website and are very proud of the design and ability to keep contact with our members via various forms of social media to include our very own Facebook page. We keep our calendar of events updated and posted on the site. We also have several links of interest. 2

3 Our Chapter also volunteered and participated in five community projects. We visited the Veteran's Home on Veteran's Day and spent the day with some very special veterans. We participated in the CG's Walk which supports our CG's emphasis on physical exercise. Our chapter supported the local Special Olympics games on post. We had over 25 volunteer participated in the YMCA Hoffman Camp Cleanup project in conjunction with the Lawton Trash Off. We were recognized by the Mayor of Lawton with a certificate of excellence for having the biggest military group present and collecting over 5 truckloads of trash. We also helped the city of Lawton with a stream cleanup project. We had over 35 volunteers come out and clean up the NUMU stream. We collected over 85 bags of trash. The event was a huge success and the chapter voted to continue support by participating in the Lawton Public Works Department's Adopt A Stream Program. We have officially adopted the stream and will continue to clean up that area in the future. Our Chapter proudly donated $100 to the Heritage Foundation and $100 to the National Scholarship Program. Last but not least, Our Chapter celebrated the 92nd Anniversary of the WO Corps by hosting a post wide Warrant Officer Professional Development Seminar. We have over 50 Warrants from various MOSs and grades WO1 to CW5 attend. We had the Post CG and many others speak on various topics. It was a great success and we plan to do another one next year. In addition, we held a social function in the evening to celebrate the Corps Anniversary. We had the youngest and oldest cut the cake and we raffled many door prizes. Issue: Working on getting more members in the CW3 above area. Have a new membership committee chair CW4(R) Rita Herron who has just taken the lead on this. We hope to increase our membership numbers in the future. Recommendations: Push more members to the annual AMM each year. Good website and is kept up to date. Continue to send chapter minutes to the regional director. Charge the Committee members to execute the matters at hand i.e. Socials, Membership drives, Fundraisers and WOPDs consistently each year. These tenants are the cornerstones of how we care for the Community Squared in Region 4. 3

4 THE ARKANSAS / MISSISSIPPI / NEW MEXICO CHAPTERS Accomplishments: NONE, Plan to seek out Warrant Officers at Camp Robinson in Arkansas and at Camp Shelby in Mississippi. Plan to have Warrant Officers at White Sands attend and participate with Ft Bliss Chapter Issue: small WO footprint Recommendations: Find the closest Military installation and research viability of a chapter. THE FORT BLISS SUN CITY El Paso Texas CHAPTER Accomplishments: Working on fundraisers and membership. Good Facebook account for the chapter Issue: The Artillery school is there and most Warrant Officers are transients due to PCS across the US. Recommendations: Seek out the permanent party Warrants and place recruiting sponsors in each unit to increase membership and meeting turn outs. Orientate the WO that will PCS with the accepting chapters outside the region. Push more members to the annual AMM each year Fort Polk Acadiana Chapter REINSTATED THE ACADIANA CHAPTER Re activated as of 1 OCT 2010 by the Region 4 Director CW4 James E. Davis and the Mayor of Leesville, Mr. Robert Rose. New President is CW4(R) Steven J. Bishop, Vice President is CW2 Nicholas Lyons, Secretary is CW3 Amanda Bradford, and Treasurer is CW2(P) LeRoy Titman. Accomplishments: Re activated the Acadiana Chapter after over 3 years of inactivity. Held the 1 st Annual United States Army Warrant Officers Association Golf Tournament on 2 OCT 2010 and raised over $2500 for the annual Scholarship Fund. The Chapter now has many great contacts within the Fort Polk and Leesville Community and is looking forward to participate in many community service events in the upcoming months. The website is up and running but needs refined. Our new Web site manager is WO1 Kevin Jones. Issue: Continue to build membership and conduct fund raising events to build funds. Need to see if prior funds can be re instated to Acadiana Chapter. Chapter President will notify all inactive members and inform them that the Acadiana Chapter is up and running again and doing great things. Recommendations: Continue working membership efforts and fundraisers; raise each by 20% for

5 PROPOSED COMPLETED NEW!!! Audie L. Murphy Austin Texas CHAPTER Accomplishments: Attend the Warrant Officer Conference in San Antonio and swear in CW3 Beau Tidrick and the new officers. This is the Newest Chapter in the Region is the Audie L. Murphy chapter in the city of Austin Texas headquartered at the National Guard Armory at Camp Mabry northwest of the capitol of Texas. New Chapter swear in officer and start meeting via satellite and commence fundraising and membership efforts. CCWO Earnest Metcalf was very helpful in bring about this chapter for National Guard warrants around the state. Issue: Establish the new memberships and connect with the community and the Mayor of Austin. Recommendations: Continue working membership efforts and fundraisers; raise each by 20% for the Fall of 2011 : Our intent is: 1) 1st 2nd QTR: membership drives, membership renewals, fundraising a) Develop membership committee that will actively encourage and recruit new chapter members especially other components and retirees b) Communicate monthly with area WOs on WO news, issues, concerns and activities c) Develop fund raising committee that will ignite our chapter have concept of "CHARTER MEMBER" drive...possibly a very nice polo with conceptual logo over USAWOA seal, with foundation member certificate signed with founding member # and WO belt buckle or Glass as the token. Each 'charter member will be formally recognized. Accepting charter level donations ($100 or more) from individuals, members, military affiliated corporate sponsors and chapter officers to be the "1st 100" to stand up a professional organization. 2) 3rd 4th QTR: community awareness and involvement a) Develop community relations with civic leaders in the Austin and surrounding areas (Pflugerville, Round Rock, Elgin, Manor, Leander, Liberty Hill, etc), WVFs, American Legions, First Responders. b) Partnerships with local business ie, sponsors in or with Austin Marathon, Capitol 5/10Ks, Run Tex, Dell, HEB, etc, B&GC, YMCA and other youth programs c) Coordinate for local and remote satellite site under TXDOTs Adopt a highway program d) Possible Habitat for Humanity involvement e) Be as involved in community programs that affect all walks of life Concurrently: Develop, sustain and continuously improve our social sites outlets for optimized outreach and awareness 5

6 Going forward to 2011 toward the future as Director of the Mid Southern Region Four Overall, the chapters in region four have fared really well. I am extremely proud of all the work that each of you has done. I ve been in direct contact with you and attended different events. We have grown together by the challenges we face. I would like to do an all out regional membership campaign to increase chapter members and lifetime memberships. I plan to do this by creating new chapters and implementing detailed MEMBERSHIP DRIVES within each of the current chapters. Furthermore, I would like to see the chapters in the region pool their ideas and develop an ANNUAL CALENDAR to Block In fundraisers, social events, WOPDs and community outreach programs and donations. In addition, I would also like to hold a regional WOPD each year (CG address) and have the surround chapters attend and ask that all chapter board members in each region attend to take back to each chapter a snap shot and overview of the event. This event does several things to the hosting chapter. The CG address to the Warrant officer and Mayors Proclamation at Ft Hood raised several thousand dollars, increased membership, got the local Mayors of the city engaged from the surrounding COMMUNTIES and provide a solid WOPD forum made up of senior warrants from various proponents and WOCC. Lastly, I will strive to coordinate with the chapters to raise membership to a higher level, maximize fundraising opportunities, educate the ever changing Warrant Officer community through WOPD seminars and expand the USAWOA by developing, nurturing, maintaining and mentoring existing chapters. I introduce to you, the motto for region four; Community Squared in Region 4 This means that the community of warrant officers and the community that we live in are combined in efforts to support our family on and off the installations that we have been a part of past, present and future.
