1 PRESS RELEASE Christopher Protsman Chief of Police Released: January 22, 2018 POLICE BLOTTER Monday, January 15, An officer was on patrol in the 500 block of Mossoak when he saw a subject he knew to have warrants. Jamie D. Wheeler, w/m 45, was arrested to two confirmed felony probation violation warrants Tuesday, January 16, An officer stopped a vehicle on Dixie at Cardington for an equipment violation. The driver, Keith D. Childs b/m 60, was found to have a Dayton warrant An officer was dispatched to the Darke County Jail for a warrant service. Brittany Hiatt, W/F/27, was arrested for a KMC FTC/Probation Warrant An officer conducted a traffic stop on Smithville at Tabor for an equipment violation. Upon investigation he located Robert Nolan (B/M/25). Nolan had an active warrant through Dayton for DUS. The warrant was confirmed and Nolan was taken into custody. He was transported to KPD Jail without incident An officer conducted a traffic stop at Kettering Blvd and W. Stroop Rd for an equipment violation. The rear seat passenger was found to have a

2 warrant. Upon confirmation Jake A. Kanai (W/M/23) was arrested for the Beavercreek PD probation violation warrant and transported to KDP jail An officer attempted to stop a vehicle at Meijer 4075 Wilmington Pk. The vehicle continued through the parking lot, and then the driver bailed from the vehicle running away as the vehicle rolled over a curb and came to a stop in the grass. The officer was able to secure the driver after she fell in the snow, and the other occupants of the vehicle were compliant. Candice P. Crouch (W/F/23) was arrested for Failure to Comply and a Huber Heights warrant for a probation violation, and passenger Billy D. Mabe (W/M/32) was arrested for a Dayton PD warrant for Theft. Both were transported to KPD jail without incident Officers were dispatched to Dorothy and Big Hill for a sig 10. Upon arrival they found one vehicle off the roadway. They met with the driver, Robert D. Hawk Jr (W/M/40) who was highly intoxicated. He failed SFST s and was subsequently arrested for OVI. He later tested.136 BAC. He was also cited failure to control Wednesday, January 17, Officers were sent to the McDonald s at 1872 E. Stroop on a trespassing complaint. They located an intoxicated subject who had urinated in his pants. Upon determining the subject had no one to care for him and that he was too intoxicated to care for himself, they arrested Norman D. Ferguson, Jr. w/m/51, for Disorderly Conduct-Public Intoxication and transported him to the KPD jail for processing Officers responded to Meijer, 4075 Wilmington Pike, on the report of a shoplifter. Upon investigation, they located Shannon N. Albrektson (W/F/31). Albrektson attempted to conceal items in her purse and passed all points of sale. She was taken into custody for Theft and transported to KPD Jail. She complained of stomach pain and was transported to KMH. She was issued a summons for theft and released Officers were dispatched to Southern and Dorothy on the report of a Domestic Violence in a vehicle. It was reported that the male half was on foot in the area. An officer located Travis G. Mollett (W/M/28) at Circle K. Further investigation revealed that Mollett had an active warrant through

3 Huber Heights for traffic offenses. The warrant was confirmed and Mollett was taken into custody. Mollett resisted arrest and was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Official Business. An officer followed up with the female victim and it was discovered that Mollett had assaulted his live-in girlfriend. He was also charged with Domestic Violence. He was transported to KPD Jail Officers were dispatched to 2139 Smithville on a disturbance. One of the participants, Kristofer M. White, W/M/39, was found to have two MCSO Warrants (Theft and FTA). The warrants were confirmed and White was arrested Officers responded to the area of David Rd. on report of a suspected OVI. They located and stopped the subject as he pulled into a driveway near David and Marshall. The subject showed signs of intoxication and there were open containers in the vehicle, but due to a language barrier SFSTs were not conducted. When asked for his license, the subject provided only a Guatemala Consular ID card. David C. Bamaca (U/M/31) was placed under arrest for No O/L and transported to KDP jail, and was served a summons for open container. Bamaca was given the opportunity to contact his consulate but declined An officer responded to the Wright Brothers Airport in Miamisburg to meet a Lebanon PD officer for a field transfer. Upon confirmation Joseph D. Perry (W/M/43) was arrested for the KPD warrant for FTC on original charge of DUS and transported to KDP jail. It later was found Perry had two other warrants which Lebanon had not confirmed. Upon confirmation of these, Perry was also booked on a Brown county SO warrant for child support, and a Miamisburg PD warrant for DUS and An officer was at the Shell station 3151 E. Dorothy and observed a subject acting suspiciously. When contact was made it was found the subject had a warrant. Upon confirmation Benjamin L. Bruney (W/M/46) was arrested for the KMC warrant for FTC on original charge of DUS, and transported to KPD Officers responded to Kettering Hospital for a warrant service. Upon arrival, officers arrested Linday G. Blanton (W/M/59) for two Kettering warrants. FTA and FTC for original charges of Trespassing. He was arrested without incident &

4 Thursday, January 18, An officer conducted a traffic stop on Dixie at Stockton for a moving violation. Investigation revealed that the occupants, Howard E. Claypool (W/M/53) and Trisha B. Ledbetter (W/F/29) had active warrants for their arrest. The warrants were confirmed and Claypool was arrested for Dayton warrants for DUS and Drug Paraphernalia and Ledbetter was arrested on a Huber Heights warrant for DUS. They were transported to KPD Jail without incident Officers responded to 3339 Pobst on the report of a neighbor problem. The victim reported that her neighbor had struck her during an argument and signed an Assault affidavit. Crews located the suspect, Jennifer Barlow (W/F/31), and arrested her for assault. She was transported to KPD Jail without incident An officer was dispatched to 4480 Indian Ripple Rd. on a warrant service. Upon his arrival, he took custody of Christopher M. Leighty (W/M/53). Leighty had an active Kettering warrant for Failure to Pay Kettering Income Tax. He was transported to KPD Jail without incident Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 3800 block of Fulton for a moving and registration violation. The driver, Brian T. Gee (W/M/29) was driving on a suspended license and suspected cocaine with scale were located in plain view. The vehicle was searched and a large bag of marijuana was found along with evidence of drug trafficking. Gee was arrested and held at the Kettering Jail for trafficking in drugs Officers responded to Dorothy and Dixie on a welfare check for an individual stumbling near the roadway. They located an intoxicated Jacob M. Gross (W/M/25), who was unable to care for himself. He was also in possession of syringes in which he claimed to use for cocaine. Gross was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of a drug instrument. He was transported to the Kettering Jail An officer was on a PHC at Speedway, 2150 E. Dorothy Lane, when he observed a suspicious person potentially trying to steal from the store. He made contact with female, Melanie M. Grenig (W/F/36) in the parking lot

5 and obtained consent to search. The officer located suspected methamphetamine in Grenig s purse. She also had her boyfriend s (currently in jail) five year old daughter with her. Grenig was arrested and held on a felony drug possession charge. The juvenile was turned over to Greene County Children Services Friday, January 19, Officers were dispatched to 2113 S. Smithville on the report of a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they made contact with Michael Len Hobbs, (W/M/28), who had been trespassed from the premises. Hobbs was arrested for trespassing, and transported to the Kettering PD Jail An officer was dispatched to meet a Beavercreek PD officer for a warrant transfer. Trisha M. Webb, W/F/51, was arrested for a KMC FTC warrant and transported to the Kettering Jail Officers responded to Meijer, 4075 Wilmington Pike, for a shoplifting complaint. The suspect, David G. Boyd (W/M/39) was located as he walked out of the store with stolen cellular phones on his person. Boyd also had an active warrant for theft (no bond) out of Dayton PD. Boyd was arrested on the confirmed warrant and for theft. While conducting the theft investigation, Shelley Keaton (W/F/53) and Paula J. Horsley (W/F/52) were also identified at the scene and found to have stolen Meijer merchandise in their backpacks. They were both issued a summons for theft and released at the scene. Boyd was transported to the Kettering Jail An officer conducted a traffic stop at Maryknoll and Claybourne for a traffic violation. A passenger, Benny R. Vernon (W/M/22) was identified and found to have an active warrant for an OVI charge out of Xenia PD. Vernon was arrested and transported to the Kettering Jail on the confirmed warrant Saturday, January 20, Officers attempted to locate Damon R. Steele, W/M/34, at 2107 E. Bataan Drive for a warrant service. Steele was located in the residence and

6 arrested for the KMC FTC warrant. Steele was transported to the Kettering Jail An officer observed an equipment violation and initiated a traffic stop on S. Dixie Drive. The driver, Anita J. Moody, W/F/55, was found to be under an OVI suspension as well as a non-compliance FRA suspension. Moody was arrested for the OVI suspension and transported to the Kettering Jail An officer was flagged down by a passerby and informed of a possible intoxicated subject walking in the roadway in the 3800 block of Glenmina. Ronald A. Shepherd, W/M/50, was located and found to be belligerent and intoxicated. Shepherd was arrested for disorderly conduct/public intoxication and transported to the Kettering Jail Officers met Ricky K. Spears, W/M/56, in the KPD Lobby as he was turning himself in for multiple original KPD warrants (Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Drug Abuse Instruments, Disorderly Conduct, and Drug Paraphernalia). Spears was arrested for the warrants and walked into the Kettering Jail Officers were dispatched to the KPD lobby on a subject turning himself in for a warrant. David M. Allen, W/M/22, was arrested for a confirmed MCSO original warrant for criminal trespass. Allen was walked into the Kettering Jail and ultimately transported to the MCSO Jail An officer was dispatched to 3801 Cordell on the report of a domestic violence that occurred at 908 E.Stroop Road. The complainant stated that Emily E. Brewer, W/F/36, had assaulted him and made threats while he was at the residence on Stroop. This was witnessed by their 8 year old daughter. Officers went to the address on Stroop and Brewer was arrested for domestic violence. Brewer was transported to the Kettering Jail An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Woodman for an equipment violation. The driver, Kenneth H. Oxley (W/M/44) was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Oxley completed some of the field sobriety tests. Oxley was arrested for OVI and transported to the Kettering Jail where he refused to provide a breath sample. Oxley was charged with OVI and OVI refusal

7 0237 An officer conducted a traffic stop on Stroop and Overland for a moving violation. The driver and occupants suspicious behavior led to a K9 conducting a free air sniff. The K9 alerted and the subsequent search recovered a scale with white residue and amphetamine pills. Ellen M. Bolinger (W/F/42) was arrested for felony drug possession. Jaclyn M. Denry (W/F/24) was issued a summons for drug paraphernalia Officers responded to 532 Wiltshire in attempt to locate Ralphael J. Adorno (H/W/43). MCSO had an active warrant for Adorno with no bond for theft. Adorno was located at the residence and arrested on the confirmed warrant. He was transported to the Kettering Jail for processing and housed at the MCSO Jail Sunday, January 21, An officer observed a vehicle in the area of Bigger/Westlawn with no visible license plate. Before he could initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle pulled into the driveway at 4795 Ridgebury. The driver, Kiara D. Bryant, (B/F/27), quickly exited her vehicle. She lied about her identity, and then after being handcuffed, she refused to let go of her keys. She was arrested, and charged with No Visible Registration, Obstructing, Falsification, Resisting Arrest, and an active warrant from MCSO. She was also issued a summons for possession of marijuana, which was located in her purse. She was transported to the Kettering PD Jail An officer was dispatched to meet a Miamisburg PD officer for a warrant transfer. William R. Hill, W/M/35, was arrested for a KMC FTC warrant and transported to the Kettering Jail An officer observed an equipment violation and initiated a traffic stop at E. Stroop Road and Wilmington Pike. The driver, Robert E. Arment, W/M/50, was found to have an enterered FTA warrant through Lebanon PD. The warrant was confirmed and Arment was arrested and transported to the Kettering Jail. Arment was also cited for DUS- noncompliance and child support suspension

8 0015 Officers responded to 4075 Wilmington Pike (Meijer) for a theft in progress. Upon arrival, they were advised of a male inside the store concealing property inside his clothing. They located and apprehended Brandon S. Stang (W/M/34). They located stolen property in his clothing along with a crack pipe and wire cutters. He was arrested for Theft and Possession of Criminal Tools. He was issued a summons for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Officers were working together when they conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Their investigation ultimately revealed that a passenger, Rolando J. Caldwell (B/M/35), had 3 active warrants for his arrest (FTA-traffic, Huber Heights; FTA traffic, Dayton Municipal and; FTA-Neglect Child, Xenia PD). He was arrested without incident ###
