1 CASE # DATE TIME LOCATION INCIDENT CLASSIFICATION ARREST JA OFC. I.D CMRC CDS Officers responded to a request for service and upon arrival were advised that while serving eviction notices the RA staff smelled the odor of burned marijuana in the dwelling. The RA staff member did a safety inspection and observed suspected marijuana in a particular dwelling. Same was seized and test on sight by police. The test was positive for marijuana. Incident referred to the Office of Student Conduct LOT D Miscellaneous Incident (Unruly crowd on campus) Henry Bldg. Miscellaneous (Suspicious Activity on the website) Officers observed an unruly crowd estimated at 700 persons congregating on parking lot C and D. Investigation revealed the crowd came from an event occurring at a local park near campus. With the assistance of the local police agencies, the crowd was eventually dispersed from campus without incident. A concerned parent contacted the Department of Public Safety in reference to documents sent to financial aid through the Bowie State University website being sent to the wrong people. The Director of Financial Aid was JA
2 contacted and addressed the parents concerns with DIT James Gym Theft under $ (F) $80.00 A speaker valued at $80.00 was left in the weight room by a staff member and upon return days later was missing. Follow-up investigation to be completed LOT C Property Damage Officers were notified of a vehicle with the right passenger window shattered. Follow-up Investigation will be completed CMRC CDS (Unfounded) Officers responded to a call for an RA staff member who while performing a check on the welfare of a student at the request of a parent noticed a strong smell of burned marijuana emanating from the suite. Ashes were observe on a window sill which were tested and presented negative results JEP Medical Call Officers responded to a call for a person who had fainted during a campus tour. Upon arrival the person was conscious and alert. Ambulance was called and the person refused transport Wellness Center Medical Call A student escorted to the wellness center because they were feeling dizzy after not taking their medication. Fireboard was called and transported the student to the
3 hospital James Gym Telephone Mis-use The ex-domestic partner of a BSU employee continued to call the work place after being told not to do so causing the employee undo stress in the work place. Advice of how to obtain a protective order was given by responding officers. Investigation continues Parking Lot D 2nd Degree Assault During a custodial child exchange of non BSU Faculty, staff or student persons, the victim reported being struck by the other custodial parent on the back of the head with an open hand. No injuries incurred. Follow-up investigation will be conducted CMRC Unauthorized Entry Officers responded to a call for a report of two unidentified males who entered the building without authorization. Follow-up investigation to be completed CMRC Misc. Incident (Alcohol Violation) Officers responded to a call for a commuter student which entered the building with a bottle of alcohol and was advised of the alcohol policy by the building staff. The student ignored the staff member and continued into the building. The alcohol was confiscated by staff member and the student was eventually 1144 Unit JA 1128
4 Computer Science Malicious Destruction of Property(MDOP) escorted from the building. Referred to the Office of Student Conduct Officers responded to a call for Destruction of Property. Investigation revealed an employee observed hole in a wall and a broken chair in the lounge of the third floor and towel dispensers in the men s room were damaged by an unknown object(s) Towers Medical Call Officers responded to a call for a student complaining of stomach pain..ems was called and transported the student to the hospital Mckeldin Theft Under $ (A) $100. Officers responded a complaint of theft. Investigation revealed that while the victim was working out, an unknown person(s) removed their wallet from a gym bag. The wallet contained $100 U.S. currency and several identification and credit cards. Victim was advised to alert their financial institutions of the theft. Follow-up investigation will be conducted Mckeldin Lost Property A student reported leaving their bag in room#102 during an event. The student left and upon return the bag was missing. Investigation revealed an
5 unknown person(s) turned the bag into Public Safety. The victim was notified and after proper inventory took ownership of the bag CMRC CDS(Paraphernalia) Officers responded to a call for CDS and paraphernalia in a residential dwelling. Investigation revealed no CDS and the suspected paraphernalia was disposed of. Photos were taken and forwarded to the Office of Student Conduct MLK Bldg. Harassment Offers responded to a call from a student for harassment. Investigation revealed the student has been receiving unwanted, unwelcome threatening messages by an unknown person(s) through text and social media. Victim was advised to be careful and aware of surroundings for their personal safety. Case open JEP & Natural Sciences Ctr. Lost Property pending further investigation. BSUPD was notified by the Office of Procurement that there is significant missing property from the JEP building and Center for Natural Science, Math and Nursing Building. Nothing was reported missing or stolen prior to the physical inventory conducted by the Office of JA 1150 Unit
6 Procurement. Investigation revealed 2 items (totaling $1,316) missing from the College of Education and 29 items (totaling $19,267.24) missing from the department of Nursing, Case open pending follow-up investigations.
