7 MESSAGE FROM THE COMMANDING OFFICER I am taking this opportunity to thank all of YOU, for your continued support and dedication towards the cadets of 330 Danforth Tech Squadron. We ve achieved remarkable success this past training year, from winning numerous multi-unit competitions, setting records in fundraising, and community support, to signifi cantly increasing enrolment, enthusiasm, esprit-de-corps, and development amongst our cadets. All of this thanks to the incredible support from our community members, sponsors, parents and individuals like YOU. We ve had an action-packed training program, and our cadets have had no shortage of opportunities to keep them engaged as they develop into successful citizens and leaders within our country. I am incredibly proud of the determination and passion our cadets have put forward over the past training year. It is pleasing to know that these young adults will soon be the future leaders of our country. From seeing our cadets act as leaders through challenging situations; observing them through confl ict resolution opportunities; to assisting them as they plan large scale events or teach technical classes all of these moments instill an immense amount of motivation and excitement among the staff and sponsoring committee that work alongside these youth. I encourage all of you to continue to explore and be engaged in opportunities that allow you to support the development of this remarkable group of young leaders. The rewarding feeling knowing that our cadets are striving towards success in their lives, as a result of your support, will be unlike anything you ve experienced. Thank you for your support over the past 72 years as we continue to develop the youth of East York. Congratulations to all our cadets on the completion of yet another training year; look forward to even more exciting opportunities coming your way in September! MESSAGE FROM THE SQUADRON SPONSORING COMMITTEE Whether you have been a member of the squadron for many years or a new recruit, there is always an opportunity to learn and put things into practice. As new members to the SSC only last year and as Co-chairs this year, we both agree that we have learned a great deal! From organizing our tagging days to booking events and coordinating permits, we have gained valuable experience and have had fun at the same time. The support and commitment from our SSC members, Captain John, the staff, the parents/ guardians, the Legion and the OPC has made this an exciting year for the cadets. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes and it is the efforts of the many that continue to make all the difference. Have a safe and happy summer! Susan Cho SSC Co-chair Lorraine Christie SSC Co-chair

8 REVIEWING OFFICER BIOGRAPHY Jabari Lindsay has been working as a youth social worker for the past decade. Mr. Lindsay has served as a youth worker and job coach with Malton Neighbourhood Services. Following his tenure at this organization, Mr. Lindsay was hired as the Project Director for Breaking the Cycle, where he designed, developed and implemented a 5 million dollar gang prevention and intervention project with the city of Toronto. The program has helped support more than 300 at-risk youth, many of whom credit Lindsay and his programs with saving their lives. Each session of this program involved youth who receive intensive workshop sessions on life skills, pro-social behaviour, and anger and impulse management. They also learn how to be leaders in the community. Many go on to speak to youth in schools, shelters, and community housing about the perils of gang life. He has dedicated a signifi cant part of his life to help countless kids tear themselves from the grip of a gang through years of outreach efforts and other prevention initiatives. Mr. Lindsay currently serves as the manager of youth development with the city of Toronto, overseeing the Toronto Youth Equity Strategy, Youth Employment Partnerships, the Toronto Youth Cabinet, and the Toronto Youth Job Corps. Mr. Lindsay holds a degree from Ryerson University and a diploma from Humber College, both in social service work. He is also the author of a popular book titled, Gangs: deal with it before wrong seems right. He lives with his wife and two young children in Brampton, Ontario.

9 MESSAGE FROM THE SQUADRON WARRANT OFFICER I consider it both a privilege and an honour to have been part of 330 Squadron for the past fi ve years. As I look back, I recognize that even though we continue to change and grow, one thing remains the same after 72 years our 330 family. Together, we understand that no matter the circumstance, no matter the challenge; we will always have the 330 family to return to each week. We will always have each other to rely on, to continue to build on each other s strengths, in order to create a stronger squadron as a whole. To my surprise, all of the cadets of 330 understood when WOII Irani said; Your rank doesn t defi ne your performance, perform above the standard and you ve earned your next rank. Each success achieved this year serves as testimony to our work and desire to improve, which was attained through our unity. This inspiring teamwork has been especially strong in our NCO s this year, as they worked hard to develop the squadron on a weekly basis. As Chief, I value teamwork and leadership above all, and with their help - visions were imagined and goals were set. We have worked, argued, shared our hopes and problems together, and essentially established ourselves as one of the strongest team of NCO s that 330 has ever seen. I count myself most fortunate to work with all of you, trusting you will continue to use your passion to push squadron to new heights still. Remember your ranks may be limited, but your performance can be infi nite. To the rest of the cadets, your story does not end yet. You have new experiences to discover and new achievements to attain. Staying in the program will not be easy. In times of adversity, you must remember what motivates you to stay: whether it s friends made, lessons learned or cold FTX nights survived. You may not have noticed, but you have grown since you joined. I am proud knowing I was part of your development. One day you ll be leading 330 at a senior level and you ll learn more about yourself than you can ever imagine. HIGHLIGHTS OF S K A T I N G RANGE..DAYS ZONE..BAND..&..
