Please keep your dogs tethered or penned up on your property. Many children as well as our neighbours are leery of unleashed dogs, we never know if they are someone s pets, drop offs or diseased. When stray pets roam our neighborhoods, it's not only dangerous for the pets but for the people who live there, too. Stray pets may suffer from starvation, diseases as well as injuries or death from encounters with animals, people or traffic. Our children do not need to witness animal suffering after being hit by a vehicle, attacked by another animal or shot for trespassing. People living in those neighborhoods also are exposed to more encounters with dogs, which can lead to more dog bites or attacks. Kitigan Zibi would like to remind everyone that we need to be more considerate of our friends and neighbours. CHRISTMAS LUNCH BID We are looking for one of our talented community chefs to prepare a Christmas meal for the staff at the K.Z. Administration Sector. Application Deadline: November 25, :00 pm EST. Employment Starting Date: December 2011 Wanaki Center is a residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation treatment facility. Our services are limited to adult First Nation People from across Canada. The Center is owned and governed by the Algonquin First Nations of Québec. We are a 12 bed residential treatment facility that provides services in both French and English. Our Center has maintained an accreditation status since 1999 with Accreditation Canada. Our residential Treatment Center is located in the community of Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg which is adjacent to the town of Maniwaki, Québec and is approximately 140 km north of the Ottawa/Gatineau region. Position Qualification Requirements: Applicants are required to be fully bilingual in French and English. Completion of a Bachelor s degree from at least one of the following areas Alcohol and Substance addictions, Mental Health, and or Social Worker. Has completed 2 to 5 years work experience in supervising and coordinating programs and personnel. Has at least 2 years work experience in a clinical supervisory position. Can demonstrate experience in developing Health related program material. Ability to facilitate and evaluate group workshop presentation. Identify, develop and provide training to staff. Manage a client caseload of four residents throughout a treatment program in the absence of a Residential Counselor. Complete clinical program and staff evaluations. Computer experience in Microsoft word and Excel Has a vehicle and valid driver s license. Position Assets: Ability to work autonomously and be a team leader in a professional capacity. Completion of a Master s degree in Additions or Mental Health Living a personal life style free of substance abuse. Personal work experience with First Nation individuals or communities. Personal work experience in a Native or non-native rehabilitation treatment facility. CPR/First Aid certification.
