For more information: Summer student jobs: Agriculture Technician/ Community Mobilizer The agriculture technicians will participate in Two workshops (Agriculture techniques and Leadership) before planting, taking care of plants,harvesting, and marketing, They will gather leaves of certain plants for the extraction of leaves to produce a supplement. They can meet with elders of their community to learn about traditional uses of plants and planting methods. At the end of their work project they will arrange to meet with youth in their community of origin to share any knowledge gained and enthusiasm that could inspire those youth to start agriculture businesses or other projects that provide healthy foods to their community. Script Proofreader The proofreader will read a script of a nutrition education programme to assure the cultural safety of its contents. The programme will then be tested by the proofreader with a small group of children. (1 position)first Nations student studying in nutrition, education, communication,other related fields. This activity is for community members that are interested in learning Algonquin or to continue building on their Algonquin language skills.
