3 July Wednesday, July 18, 3:00 PM (EST) Trade Tariffs. How they will affect your business and what NUCA is doing in Washington to address them Mr. Bryce Mungeon NUCA Director of Government Affairs Special Guest Presenter Bryce Mungeon, NUCA Director of Government Affairs The President formally announced tariffs on imported steel and on imported aluminum. These tariffs will make these raw materials more expensive for American companies and individuals who use goods containing them. In his decision, The President deployed a little-used weapon in U.S. trade law: Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, which authorizes the president to restrict imports and impose unlimited tariffs on national security grounds. Since the United States joined the World Traded Organization in 1995, it has pursued only two such investigations. Come listen as Bryce explains the current situation and also explains what NUCA is doing on Capitol Hill to protect our members whose businesses will be negatively impacted by increases in raw materials.

Shortly a er that presenta on, The U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administra on (PHMSA) adapted Massoud s Nine Essen al Components as a guideline for all states to follow Virginia s long road to improved performance in damage preven on. Come listen as Mr. Shane Ayers outlines the nine essen al elements and takes ques ons from NUCA members all over the country on how then can go about working with their state Miss U lity systems to help implement these cri cal steps to success.
