We hope you are all planning to partake and enjoy some delicious food. There are 8 incredible restaurants participating this year, and they have each worked very hard at creating special menus with items that are unique and not currently available at their restaurants. Go to our website for the full list of participating restaurants and their menus. We also have a special Custer Restaurant Week Facebook page and Instagram account. If you aren't following them, you're definitely missing out! There are also various entertainment options throughout the four days of Restaurant Week as well. Dawn has put together an infographic of each location, date, time, and type of entertainment. Check out the latest blog post for all this info. We also want to give a special shout out to our sponsors of Restaurant Week- NXTLAW PC, Buffalo Boys, and The HomeSlice Group. We also have a committee that has been very supportive in the planning of this event. We couldn't do what we do without the help of these people. In addition to all the fun of Restaurant Week, next Saturday is the Custer Trade Show as well. It will take place at the Custer Elementary School this year and will be going on from 9am-3pm on Saturday, March 2 nd. There will be concessions available throughout the day and the entrance fee is a free-will monetary donation to the Crazy Horse Civil Air Patrol. We already have a lot of vendors signed up with various types of businesses represented. It will be a great time for the whole family. This is the perfect time to shop local, shop small, and shop often! 2019 Board of Directors Steve Olson - President John Stahl - VP Amanda Allcock Jim Ashmore Amy Bailey Diane Dennis Steve Engelbrecht Corey Virtue Bobbi Schmidt Weekly Inspiration

15 Mountain Oyster Feed again this year on Saturday, February 23rd from 5:00pm until the food runs out. The Friends will be holding a silent and live auction of items and services donated by local businesses and individuals again this year. The funds raised this year will go toward the purchase of a drone which the Custer County Search & Rescue (SAR) squad will use to aid in searches and for upgrades to other equipment, training, and upgrades to our new facility, the old Regional physical therapy building. The Friends group, which was organized a few years ago to financially support the work of the Search & Rescue team, has used this same event in the past to purchase much needed equipment for the squad. The Laughing Water Restaurant at Crazy Horse Memorial will be donating the food, facility, and the serving up the food. Chicken strips will also be available at no addition cost for those who prefer not to partake of the "oysters" and the cash bar is also available. Tickets can be purchased for $15.00 from any Search & Rescue team member or by calling Funds will be raised by ticket sales, cash donations at the event, and a 50/50 raffle in addition to the live and silent auctions. Bradeen Real Estate and Auctions will be donating their services in conducting the live auction. The Friends of Custer County Search & Rescue is a 501-c-3 non-profit organization, so all donations are tax deductible. Donations can also be made by check to Friends of Custer County Search & Rescue, PO Box 6047, Custer, SD If anyone wishes to donate cash or item towards the silent or live auctions and haven't been contacted by a Friends or SAR member, please contact any SAR member or contact us at or by at sarfriends@friendscsdsar.orgor by going to the website and using the donate now button athttp:// 24

26 "The Strider Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was formed in The Strider Education Foundation believes that learning to ride can help everyone lead a happier and healthier life. Through the development of a proven Learn-To-Ride curriculum and donations of the world's most advanced training bikes, the nonprofit organization makes riding available, safe, easy, and fun for everyone. All Kids Bike is a national movement administered by the Strider Education Foundation. Our goal is simple: we want all kids to know how to ride a bike by the time they begin the first grade. To do this, we raise funds to provide Learn-To-Ride bikes, helmets, and integrative curriculum at no cost to the school. Custer Chamber member Phil Lampert Broker/owner of Lampert Properties in Custer and broker associate Andrea Ronning are personally sponsoring the costs associated with providing Strider bikes for all of Custer kindergarten kids. When asked why they stepped up to get involved with Strider, Lampert said "we are longtime fans of Ryan McFarland and we are extremely proud of him and his Strider accomplishments." "We are big believers in the outdoors," said Ronning. "As Realtors we sell the outdoors. Phil and I want to entice kids away from screen time to breathe the fresh air." "We believe in Ryan's mission," added Lampert. "We are honored to be involved." Funded programs in South Dakota currently include: Bison, Newell, Spearfish, Lead- Deadwood, Douglas, Hill City, Rapid City, Elk Mountain, Custer, Hot Springs, Edgemont, Hoven, and one school in Sioux Falls.
